...so that meant no bombing. In fact, the Allies wanted to bypass Paris altogether and run straight into Germany. But that pesky Feast of the Assumption uprising by the French made it necessary to secure the City of Light. It's amazing what you can learn from a video game, eh? (wink wink) Or, if you the book-type as well, try "Is Paris Burning?" by Collins and Lapierre.
Oh yes, then there's the unsettling, nagging rumor that the reason Baghdad got it so bad is that the Iraqis don't have the advantage of being white Europeans, but that seems scurrilous to me. Don't worry, kids! We saved the Ministry of Oil!
