Indiana Jones and the Iron Phoenix (comic & game)

This is a question that's plagued me for years, and for some reason I just thought of it again today and thought I'd ask if anyone knows the answer.

Years ago, Dark Horse released the comic book series Indiana Jones and the Iron Phoenix. It was credited as being based on a LucasArts Game by the same team as Fate of Atlantis. The comic was pretty good, and certainly felt like a good computer game, yet the game itself never arrived. Does anyone know why? Is there a "lost" Indiana Jones adventure game out there somewhere? It's a real shame, because Fate of Atlantis was so great. I really liked the old adventure game style much better than the new action-oriented Tomb Raider style of Emperor's Tomb and Infernal Machine.
