Hard to say. We know from what Marion stated 'he left me with these boxes full of junk'....and she had the headpiece hanging around her neck, so we DO know Ravenwood wandered away from sites with items in his possession.

Even Indy was essentially a 'grave robber' for hire, as everything HE pulled out of a dig (that he didn't destroy, just like 'Fedora' and co. did at the beginning of LC), he sold to the college museum (check the classroom scenes in Raiders and LC where he gives 'good pieces' to Marcus for the price of a plane ticket to go after the idol).
So, essentially Indy did have a roll model in that respect for that part of the 'business'. Remember, this was pre-1920 in his first encounter with 'Fedora', and the 1930's when Indy was in full profession, and the rules of 'archaeology' were pretty loose at that time, so what we see now as 'grave robbing' was considered proper field practice in that day and time. Heavens, so archaeologists even used TNT to enter tombs in the late 1800's to early 1900's, so even Indy and 'Fedora' had come a long way in not destroying EVERYTHING in their path. (grins)
