Chapter X of the Remnants of the Dark World Order

Well, here it is. Here's my take on Shorty's fan fic. I hope you
like it.

Chapter X

Brett, James, Shorty, Michaelson, Indy, and Meg made their way from
the cliff to the forest armed with their guns hoping to make it back
to base.

"Ah, geez, our plane has crashed, how are we supposed to make it back
to base?" Indy complained.

"This is heavy" Shorty said.

"Hmmm..." James thought. "I guess we'll have to find the nearest town
to get to the Phoenix base and debrief Micah on what has happened."

"He's right." Michaelson said. "I guess we'll have to take a little
journey."

"What if there are more DWO troops looming around?" Meg asked.

"We'll be ready for them!!" Brett said, loading his rifle.

"No..." said Shorty, then James and Brett joined Shorty in unison.
"YES! MAN!" The three gave each other high fives.

Meg, Michaelson, and Indy grinned with amusement.

"You three," Meg commented. "It's a wonder Shorty isn't the brother
of Brett and James."

Brett, James, and Shorty looked at each other in wonderment,
considering the thought then they quickly dismissed it.

"Naw!" said Brett.

The group journeyed through the thick forest hoping there won't be
anymore troops around.

Suddenly, footsteps could be heard near them. The group raised their
guns in the direction of the sound.

"Who's there?" Indy sternly asked.

There was no response.

"I'll go in for a closer look and investigate," said Brett. "Cover
me."

"Will do sir," said Michaelson.

Brett went into the thicker portion of the forest, rifle raised aiming
at the air. Brett was nervous as hell. Suddenly a figure emerged
from the woods. It was a woman.

"Don't shoot!" the woman pleaded.

This woman was drop dead gorgeous. She looked like someone straight
from a James Bond movie. In fact she looked a lot like Domino from
"Thunderball" to be precise. She was dressed in a green tank top and
biege short shorts just like Lara Croft. She had a gorgeous body,
very voluptuous indeed.

Brett lowered his rifle and gave a sigh of relief.

"Oh, thank God. I thought you were one of them. I'm so glad it's a
beuatiful woman like you!" Brett said.

The two gazed at each other and felt some chemistry between them.

"So, what brings you here Miss...?" Brett asked.

"Alice Kovacs, and who might you be?"

"Brett Lambert. Nice to meet you." The two shook hands.

"The DWO. That's what brings me here. They have overrun our small
town and now control it. It's like living in a fascist society. It's
just awful. I must flee my town to where the DWO isn't," Alice
explained.

"Hmmm... That's what we're after. Our organization is bent on
completely banishing the Dark World Order for good. Now do you know
where the nearest town with an airport is?"

"About twenty miles from here."

"That's a long way, would you be interested in guiding us. Maybe you
can join our group and help get rid of the DWO."

"I would love to!!" said Alice.

"Wonderful, now come, meet the rest of the group."

The two went back to the group. James, Michaelson, Shorty, Meg, and
Indy raised their guns at the forest. Brett raised his hands in the
air.

"It's all right! It's all right!" Brett said. "It was only a
citizen, no DWO troops guys."

The rest of the group breathed a sigh of relief. They then saw Alice,
and the male members of the group gazed at the extremely beautiful
woman. Jaws began dropping.

"Guys, this is Alice Kovacs, she'll be our new member, she's
determined, as we are to take down the DWO." Brett said.

"Alice, this is my brother James, other members here are Short Round,
Michaelson, Indy, and Meg."

The guys greeted her with enthusiasm.

"Yo, what's up?" Shorty said to Alice.

"She will guide us to the nearest city with an airport so we can
debrief Micah." Brett told the group.

"Wonderful dude!!!" Shorty exclaimed.

The seven journeyed off through the woods for about 10 miles. Since
they have been walking for so long, they decided they would camp at a
safe spot halfway through the journey and continue the rest of the way
tommorow.

It was morning, and the seven planned on continuing, but they were
wary that there still might be some DWO troops around. They decided
that James should go off to test whether the coast was clear.

James began walking forward.. He slowly walked step by step, looking
each ways to make sure there weren't any troops. Knowing that the
coast was clear, James gave a thumbs up signal to proceed when all of
a sudden, James stepped on a landmine!!! It blew up and it blew off
both of James legs. He lied in a pool full of blood screaming in
agony.

James woke up with sweat all over him. It turned out to be a really
bad dream.

"Thank God I'm alive!!" James said.

Shorty quickly got up. "Dude! What's the matter? What happened?"

"I had the most terrible nightmare that I was walking straight down
that way and I walked over a landmine and my legs blew off. It was
awful!" James explained.

"Oh jeez! That's heavy! But don't worry dude! It was only a dream,
it never happened dude!" Shorty reassured James.

Pretty soon afterward, the group continued to get to a town. After
many hours of walking they finally made it to a city and got on the
earliest available flight to the base.

The seven received their airline tickets and boarded the plane.

"Oh, boy! I sure do hope they play Back to the Future as the
in-flight movie! I gotta hear some Huey Lewis, dude!" Shorty said.

Meanwhile at the DWO base...

"Any word on the recovering of the bodies of those unfortunate Phoenix
Members" Spaltic asked the leader of the troops.

"Uh, they haven't been recovered yet, sir," the leader said.

"Find them immediately or you will suffer the same fate as those
unfortunate Phoenix memebers." Spaltic bitterly yelled.

"Yes, my lord, we'll find them"
