Chapter XI
The plane landed on the Phoenix Group landing field. They all hopped out and ran to the guard gate, desperate to report to Micah. They all stopped and gave their I.D.
ìAnd who is this young lady?î The guard indicated Alice.
ìUhÖî Brett pondered. ìShe was tagging along.î
ìWe canít allow a non-member to enter.î The guard said.
ìWell you see,î Shorty began, ìShe is a recruit and a witness to some Dark World Order projects and can help us well!î
ìBut Iím noñì Alice started.
They seen Micah running toward the gate.
ìMicah!î They all yelled as they ran to him.
ìMicah,î Brett said, ìThe guard wouldnít letñì
ìAll of you, come in! Even your friend!î He said as he signaled the guard to open the gate.

Micah paced the room.
ìI see.î He said. ìWe can recruit her. She will go through a lot of training though. A lot!î
ìGreat!î Brett exclaimed. ìGreat! This is gonna be great! UhÖ Micah, if I may say so, can I be with her and help her with training and such?î
ìMy pleasure.î He replied. ìWell, you guys ought to go take a rest. You been through enough the past couple of days.î
Without hesitation, they all got up and went to their rooms.
ìUhÖ Shorty?î Micah said. ìAlice will have to use your room. You will sleep in the Lambertís room tonight.î
ìWhy canít she sleep in the Lambertís room?î Shorty asked.
ìWell number one, sheís a lady, and number two, I donít think it would be nice enough for one lady to be in the same room with two boys. Well you probably understand.î
ìRightÖî Shorty mumbled as he walked to his room and gathered his stuff. He walked to the Lambertís room.
ìHey Big S!î James said. ìWhatís with the blankets and pillows?î
ìOh, Micah said Alice should sleep in my room and I share mine with you.î
ìOh, cool.î Brett said as he walked out of the bathroom with toothbrush in hand.
ìSo, do any of you have aÖî Shorty said.
James rolled out a cot all prepared for Shorty.
ìÖcot.î Shorty said. ìThanks.î
He put his sheets on it and his two pillows.

It was one in the morning and Alice was tossing and turning in bed. She was thinking of Brett. She had a burning feeling in her heart when she first seen him. What could that mean? She knew it was something good though. She got up for the Lambertís room.

Shorty walked through forest. An explosion of light exploded in front of him sending him flying flat on his back! He shielded his eyes from the blinding light before Gandalf appeared to him.
ìGandalf?î Shorty exclaimed. ìIs that you?î
ìYes it is.î He answered as the light died out.
ìWhat is it?î Shorty asked. ìWhere am I anyway?î
ìYou have been visited my Sauron, am I right?î Gandalf asked.
ìYeah,î Shorty replied, ìAnd he mentioned something about the Lambertís being my brothers.î
ìHeís right.î Gandalf replied.
ìWhat do you mean?î Shorty asked. ìIs this some kind of jokeñì
Shorty woke up in sweat as the door opened. Alice walked in.
ìBrett?î She whispered.
ìHuh?î Shorty mumbled.
She sat beside Shorty.
ìBrett, can you come to my room for a second?î She asked.
ìIím not Brett.î Shorty replied.
Brett lazily stepped out from the bottom bunk.
ìWhat is it?î He asked as he rubbed his heavy eyes.
ìBrett, can you come to my room, itís important.î She asked.
ìSure.î He said as he followed her out the door.
Shortyís head hit the pillows.

ìSo, what is it?î Brett asked.
ìYouíll see.î She said as she put her hand on her zippers.

A week laterÖ
Alice was practicing her marksmanship, Brett watching.
ìNice, Alice.î He commented.
She put the gun down.
ìYou really think so?î She asked.
They seen James running to them.
ìHey,î Brett greeted, ìWhatís up?î
ìItís not whatís up, itís whatís down.î James replied.
ìWhat do you mean?î Brett asked.
ìItís Shorty.î James said. ìHeís been acting weird lately. You know, to himself kind of and silent. Since a week ago.î
ìWell itís probably the after shock of the forest adventure. You know, he has to recover.î Brett replied.
ìI donít think thatís it.î James said. ìThe Valinor adventure was a big step for all of us and he was acting like as if it never happened after.î
ìSo what are we gonna do?î Alice spoke up.
ìAsk himÖî James replied.

James walked into the gym and found Shorty pumping some iron.
ìHey Shorty!î He said as he walked over to him.
ìHey.î Shorty replied.
ìWhatís going on?î James asked.
ìI donít know, you tell me.î Shorty said.
Shorty got up and walked to the locker room.
ìShorty, wait.î James said as he got up and ran after him. He got there as Shorty was walking out with his regular apparel: green jeans, a baggy shirt, and his regular sneakers.
ìWhy do you keep following me around?î Shorty asked.
ìI been wanting to have a talk with you.î

Shorty and James sat down in the cafeteria.
ìOk, what is it?î Shorty asked.
ìWell I been noticing something about you.î James started. He waited for Shorty to speak up or something, but Shorty just gave a nod to continue. ìWell, I been noticing that something is bothering you. Ever since the night we came back from the forest.î
ìYeah, so what do you want from me, dude?î Shorty replied.
ìWell I want to know whatís been bothering you.î James said.
ìOk,î Shorty started, ìThe night we came back from the forest and I was asleep, I had a dream I was running across plains similar to the kind in Valinor. Then Gandalf came to me and said thatÖî
Shorty paused with his mouth open as if to continue.
ìYeah?î James spoke up.
ìYouíre my brother.î Shorty finally said.
Jamesí mouth was wide open in shock and his heart was beating a mile a minute.
ìI see.î He said. ìAnd I believe him.î
ìOh.î Shorty said. ìWell, it was good to get it out. I feel better already.î
Shorty chuckled.
ìI had a similar dream.î James said.
ìWell why didnít you tell us, dude?î Shorty asked.
ìI just thought it was a nightmare. But itís true, all of it! Brett had the same dream! We got to find out more about this!î James said.
ìRightÖî Shorty replied. ìIím with you on that one!î
Their watches started to beep and glow.
ìMichaelson wants us.î They both said in unison. They chuckled to themselves.

They walked into the briefing room.
ìHey, whatís up?î Shorty said as he entered.
ìWell you seam to be lively.î Brett said. ìSo I see you talked to him, huh?î Brett whispered to James.
ìSure did.î James said. ìAnd he had the dream too.î
Brett was in shock. It hit him like lightning.
ìWeíll discuss this later.î Shorty whispered to them.
ìOk men, and women.î Michaelson announced. ìI would like to introduce two new Phoenix Group members to you. The first one.î Michaelson gestured Alice up to the stand. ìAlice Kovacs.î
ìI would just like to thank Brett for helping me along the way. I may be an amateur but I wouldnít have made it here like I did if it werenít for Brett.î She winked at him, flirting.
Brett blushed. Alice sat back down.
ìAnd I would like to introduce Indiana Jayne.î Michaelson gestured a hot looking babe up to the stand.
ìOooohhhhhhhh.î Shorty pondered.
Shortyís heart started to beat a mile a minute. He felt feverish all over. He was sweating and blushing. Shorty caught Jayneís eye and vice versa.
ìUh,î She was speechless. ìThis is an honor being up here. I would like to thank all the people who helped me in this. I owe you a lot.î She nervously walked off the stand. She went out of the room.
ìUh, excuse me.î Shorty said as he ran out the door after her.
He caught up to her before she went in her room.
ìHey Jayne!î He said from down the hall. ìYou were great! Want to go for a Mountain Dew or something later on?î
ìSure!î She replied. ìI donít think we were introduced. Of course you know me, Jayne.î
ìRound.î Shorty said. ìShort Round!î
ìPleased to meet you Short Round.î Jayne said.
ìWell people usually call me Shorty.î He chuckled.
ìSo how about tomorrow.î She said.
ìTomorrow would be great!î Short
ìSo how about tomorrow.î She said.
ìTomorrow would be great!î Short replied. ìHow about lunch. We can get to know each other more.î
ìOk, lunch is fine.î Jayne said.
ìOk, see you around. Good night.î Shorty said as Jayne went in her room.
Shorty ran down the hall and jumped high enough to touch the ceiling.

TomorrowÖ
Jayne and Shorty were eating in the cafeteria.
ìÖand so I found a clearing and hitched a ride to school on the closest truck. Craig and his gang of course didnít catch up to me to my advantage but I was kicked out of school for other reasons.î Shorty said.
ìYou must have been through a lot.î Jayne commented.
ìWay more than that!î Shorty replied. ìYou should hear aboutÖî
They talked for a half hour or so.
ìÖAnd then I smacked the darn beast in the face with a stalactite and kicked the crap out of it. Goodsport was ok and we got out of the cave after some swimming through a tunnel and such. Then it was back to running away from the Smaug!î Shorty ended.
The place started to shake.
ìWhoa, whatís that?î Jayne exclaimed.
Shorty grabbed her hand by reaction.
Everyone ran to the window and started to run away as if being chased. Jayne and Shorty sat in the cafeteria confused.
ìStay here!î Shorty said as he ran to the window.
What he seen put him in deep shock ñ The Hover Base advancing toward them!

Spaltic, Sauron, and the General stood at the window of Spalticís main quarters looking out the window.
ìYour calculations were correct Sauron.î Spaltic said. ìNow Theodenís Spear, Faramirís Ring, and Aragornís Sword will be ours at last! We will rule Valinor again!î
ìCorrect.î Sauron said.
Sauronís impatience made him want to strike Spaltic down already so he can rule the base. But he couldnít. Not now.

Brett and Alice ran through the crowded corridorís as if trying to swim against the current of a river! They made it to the opening of another corridor.
ìCome on Alice!î Brett yelled. ìThis way!î
Alice followed him down the clearer corridor.
ìWe can make it to the landing field this way and escape by plane!î Brett said.
He ran through the computer room which was in panic as well. They reached a door and slammed through it easily. They ran to a door and pressed a button on the side so the mechanic door can open up like a garage door. As it opened up they seen the Hover Base. They stood there in awe as it came closer. The garage-like door started to close by itís timer. They noticed pods started to shoot out of the bottom of the base. As it hit the ground like meteorís, troops piled out and advanced towards the base, firing! The guns from the base started firing as well!
ìGet down!î Brett yelled as bullets punctured the ground around them!
ìCome on!î He yelled. ìThe door can hold back the blasts! Letís escape the other way!î
They ran toward the closing door which was a yard open by now! More bullets riveted around them! They punctured the door! Brett and Alice got back up again and ran after the two foot open door! Alice rolled through the door first and Brett rolled through it just as it was a foot from closing! It finally closed, nearly getting him! They heard the noise of bulletís hitting meal as the outside was sprayed with bullets, also puncturing the garage-like door!
ìI donít think we have much time!î Brett exclaimed. ìOnce those troops get in here weíre finished for!î
Brett and Alice noticed one of the planes near the far side of the garage.
ìWeíll escape on that baby!î Brett said.
Him and Alice ran to the plane.
ìYou know how to fly donít you?î Alice asked.
ìNo.î Brett said.
Aliceís mouth dropped open.
ìYES!î He joked.
ìThis is not a jokingñì
More bullets riveted the garage door.
ìGet in!î He yelled as he opened up the door.
Brett ran to the door and opened it.
ìOk,î He assured. ìEngine running. PropellersÖ UhÖ Propelling! Alright, weíre settled!î
As the door opened, Brett flew out of there! Meanwhile, bullets riveted the other door which finally gave to the bullets!
Brett and Alice exchanged glances.
ìWe did it!î Brett said.

ìMichaelson!î Shorty yelled as he ran in the war room, Jayne in tow. ìWhatís going on? Canít we hold them back?î Shorty exclaimed.
ìWeíre trying our best!î Michaelson replied.
ìGood!î Shorty said.
They stood there and watched the map as troops and the base started to catch up to them like a giant title wave!
ìThis is heavy!î Shorty exclaimed.
ìWhat are you still doing here?î Michaelson asked. ìGo! Get out of here before they catch up!î
ìWell what aboutñì Shorty started.
ìJust go!î Michaelson shouted. ìAt the rate theyíre going we only have ten minutes! Go!î
Shorty and Jayne ran out of the room to bump into Meg.
ìAm I glad to see you!î She exclaimed.
ìMeg, no time for that now! We got to get out of here!î Shorty said. ìFollow us!î
They ran down the crowded corridor.

ìMeg!î Indy yelled on the top of his lungs while moving through the corridor.
ìWhere can she be!î He said to himself.

ìHereís a deserted corridor!î Shorty said. ìWe might be able to get out through this route!î
ìMeg!î a voice yelled from deeper in the corridor.
ìIndy!î Meg yelled back in reply.
ìMeg?î Indy yelled as he ran down the corridor to greet her. ìMeg! Guys, follow me I know a way out!î
ìRight.î Shorty said as he led Jayne down the corridor following Indy.
They all ended up in an office like room.
ìCome on!î He said as he led them to the glass door. ìThis is a back door as I call it! We have more of an advantage escaping from here!î
They all ran out of the base. They ran across the land and noticed a plane up ahead.
ìThatís one of our planes!î Shorty exclaimed.

ìSend infantry out!î Michaelson ordered.

Soldiers poured out of the base and acted as a barrier toward the marching DWO.
