Raiders of the Lost Ark
Part 1
We were in Peru, 1936. Indy was looking for some gold head whatcha-mi-call-it. But I knew with the risks he was taking, as usual, it must be valuable and stuff. We had two Peruvian guides, Satipo and Barannca. They both seemed pretty suspicious, but I didn't like Barannca at all. Indy was wearing khakhi pants, a tan-ish shirt, a brown leather jacket, a fedora, and a bullwhip, that's basically what he was wearing besides shoes. Me, I was just wearing a white T-shirt and khakhis, basically. We trudged down a plant and moss-covered mountain and stared at the rockier one up ahead for a moment, then we turned a little northern and a lot eastern. I looked down at the muddy river down between us and the rocky mountain. I hoped I wouldn't have to swim in it.
In a little bit we reached another forest and Barannca called back to the other Peruvian guides with donkeys and supplies to hurry up. Eventually, we reached a tree with a thick, wooden needle in it. Indy picked it up and rubbed the red area in front. "Poison." He told me, then dropped it on the ground. Then me and Indy kept going, so did Satipo, Barannca, and the guides. Finally, still in the forest, we all reached the river. As he was tying his donkey to a tree, a guide found a small rock statue carve into a wierd face with it's tongue sticking out. The guide shrieked a bats flew out of the mouth and he led the rest of the guides besides Satipo and Barannca. We stared off into the distance as if to call them idiots. Indy then walked to the river again and pulled two pieces of old paper from his bag and put them together. It was a map. As Indy looked at the map, Barannca pulled his gun out and aimed it straight at Indy. I saw this and ran at him and pushed his hand up in the air and he accidently shot a branch of a tree. We both ran a bit from the branch. Indy heard this and quickly spun around and lashed his whip and it wrapped around Barannca's hand and gun. Barannca fought the whip but Indy pulled it as the gun flew from Barannca's hand into the river. Barannca ran, holding his hand. Indy glared at him. Indy put the map back in his bags and walked up a nearby hill it had a small square stone entrance and a little pile of sand on top of a block. Me a and Satipo ran up to him. "This is it," Indy said, piling sand into a smaller bag and tied it back up. "This where Forrestall cashed in."
"A friend of yours?" Asked Satipo.
"No, my competitor." Indy replied. "He was good. He was very very good." Indy said with a sigh. Then we walked in

Raiders of the Lost Ark
Part II
The cave was really dark and muddy, so Indy had gotten a torch from Satipo's pack and lit it. We slowly walked through, Indy examining the walls as he walked, Satipo walking cautiously through the cavern, and me, having nothing else to do, just put my hands in my pockets and started whistling--"Feoo, fo, fee. Fee, fap, fo. Fee fah---hhhh. Blech." I stopped because a skeleton sat just staring through his hole--erm, eyes. About ten arrows in his chest.
After walking a few feet, we came to a big opening There was a small entrance below a big, giant hole. Indy kept spinning to look at the scenery, so I nudged Indy. "Hey," I whispered, "Can we get on with this, please?"
"Yeah, sorry. For a moment there I forgot what it was like being nine-years-old in an archeological site like this." Indy said, sliding his eyeballs up, apparently remembering something.
When we passed through the small entrance, we reached a small, wood-bordered, thin opening. After walking a bit, we reached a slightly bigger--just barely bigger--area that had a small shaft shooting down diagonally from the left. "Stop," Indy said, holding his arms out to halt me and Satipo. "Stay outta the light." Indy crouched and crawled under the light and slid through to the other side. "Ben, I think you'd better come over too, just like I did. Satipo, you too." We both did it. "Ben, I-ee, uh, I think you'd better shut your eyes, just in case." I slowly put my hands over my eyes. Next I knew I heard a SHOOOOOOOWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOFFFFFIIIIINNNNNTTTT! Sound and Satipo screaming--"Ahhhggghhhh, orrrrrgghhh, aaaaggghh, oof, oof!"
"Hush up Satipo." I said, annoyed.
"Well, you try looking at that skull, half skin-covered, eyebal--!"
"Satipo! Shut up!" Indy ordered. "Forrestall."
"EH." I said, grimacing.
Indy lashed his whip out and it caught the branch perfectly. A pit was in the middle of the room we were in. Indy tugged it a little, to see if it would hold his weight. It did.
"Ben, hold on, tight." Indy said. I did. When he swung over and reached the other side, he turned around and let me off. Then he tossed the whip to Satipo. He swung over and almost fell, but Indy grabbed Satipo's belt and pulled him up. Then we walked ahead.
The next thing we saw was the treasure room, not holding a bunch of gold coins or anything. But up ahead, on a fairly small pedestal, was Indy's treasure. The Hovito's golden head.

Raiders of the Lost Ark
Part III
We started walking slowly a bit. Satipo started to run. "We must hurry. There is nothing to fear here!!" he shouted. Indy chased him a second, pushed his fist and arm sideways, and landed Satipo to the wall by the chest.
"That's what scares me." Indy replied. Indy nudged us to move down as he crouched. The whole floor was a pattern, thin bricks outside, big thick bricks between. Indy took a burnt out torch and placed it over one of the big bricks. He pulled off some moss with the torch and then covered it back up. He made a face that completely said, "Typical." "Stay right here." he said, pointing down at us.
"If you insist, Senor." replied Satipo. Indy's fingers twitched a moment and he walked forward. He followed the pattern, avoiding the big blocks. The whole surrounding was spooky. Detailed faces carved into the rock walls appeared to eerily smile and make faces at Indy. Up nearer to the pedestal appeared to be a statue of a giant figure wielding an ax. Indy got a step away from a mossy hill when he suddenly slipped. Satipo stood up quickly and grimaced, but Indy got high up to the moss and began the minute long journey that seemed like forever. Indy was barely a few feet away from the hideous head. After what, like I said, seemed like forever, Indy finally reached the pedestal. He crouched down again to eye-level with the pedestal and pulled out the smaller bag and pulled a handful of sand out. He let the sand slip through his fingers slowly. Eventually he just threw all the sand in his hand away. He tied the bag again and put it in his left hand. He put the bag and his hand near the head. Satipo was wiping his thumbs and fingers together. Almost there...almost...Indy was breathing hard. Suddenly with a light speed action, he switched the bag for the head. Indy sighed a breath of relief as did Satipo. I nearly fainted. Indy adjusted his hat proudly and walked back... When all of a sudden he heard a rocky OUGGGGOUGGGOUGGG sound and me and Satipo saw the top portion of the pedestal go down with the bag. Indy looked back and the stones apparently making a dragon face started crumbling. Then it seemed like dirt and rocks were falling everywhere. Indy stuffed the gold head under his armpit and ran for it. Darts spewed dirt and poison at Indy but he was too fast. Satipo looked back and ran to the pit. I chased him back. By the time I reached him he had gone over and the whip fell with the branch. Satipo looked down at the whip and then to the other side, Indy came back. "Satipo, throw me the whip!" Indy called.
"Throw me the idol, I throw you the whip!" Satipo replied. Satipo looked back, a door was slowly going down. "No time to argue!" Indy threw the idol hopefully. Satipo caught it and just dropped the whip, grinning. "Adios, senor." He ran to the entrance.
"Get on my back." Indy said to me.
"Okay, I hope I'm not too heavy." I replied. I climbed up as fast as I could.
"You're too heavy."
"Bummer."
"Look, I'll jump over and while I'm doing that, jump and see if you can catch my back."
"Uh, okay." Indy jumped over and caught on to a straw vine in the floor and tried to pull himself up. I jumped over and just barely caught on, Indy fell a bit.
"Indy, I'm gonna try to climb up on top and get you."
"Nah, save yourself, kid. Jock is waiting at the river, he'll pick ya up." I ignored him and pulled myself up. I put my leg up on top and pushed down and got myself up. Indy watched me go back a little towards the entrance and thought I was going back. But I crawled under the door and quickly put the idol under the door! Indy was pulling desperately. In a second, he was up! The door almost reached the idol, but we finally crawled under. I grabbed the idol and started running. I heard Indy say, "Adios Satipo." And I assumed he had been killed.
"Come on, Indy!" I shouted.
"Okay!"
He ran to me and I started running again. Indy looked back and from the giant hole, a boulder chased after us!! We ran as fast as we could. The boulder almost got us, but we ran harder. Almost there! We finally jumped out, rolling down the hill. When we landed right side up, we saw a bunch of Hovitos pointing bows and arrows at us. When we looked over, we saw Barannca, just standing there, expressionless. A Hovito pushed him down, exposing several needles in his back. Then Indy's arch rival, Rene Belloq.
"Dr. Jones. Again we see there is nothing you can possess which I cannot take away. You chose the wrong friends. And this time it will cost you." Belloq said reaching for something. Indy pulled his gun out from its holster. The Hovitos stretched the bows and arrows. Indy turned the gun so the handle faced Belloq, then they backed off. "And..." Belloq said, reaching again. As Indy dug out the head, he talked to Belloq, "Belloq, it's too bad they don't know you the way I do."
"Too bad. You could warn them, if only you spoke Hovito." Taking the head, Belloq spun around, raising the artifact. "Wakanamatuso, nomata!" The Hovitos bowed at this. Indy and I took the advantage and squeezed it hard. We ran as the Hovitos were bowing. Next thing I heard was Belloq's laughing echoing in the jungle. We ran harder than when we were chased by the boulder. The Hovitos began chasing us. They ran as fast as they could with barefeet, which is not very fast. We past some donkeys. Then more jungle, then open space. I looked back at the Hovitos. We were well out of range for them to shoot at us. We could see the cliff. Indy called to Jock, the pilot of the plane that took us to Peru.
"JOCK! START THE ENGINES!! GET 'EM UP!"
We reached the cliff to find Jock fishing. "Jock, start the engines!"
Jock saw us and went to start the engines. VROOOOMMMM the propellors went. "This time, you can get on my back." I climbed up on his back. He grabbed the vine, swung, and jumped in the yucky water. I'm glad Indy was a good swimmer. The Hovitos reached the cliff and started shooting at us, but we already reached the plane and I was comfy in Indy's lap. Soon a boa constrictor started moving up our legs. Indy grimaced and looked back to Jock. "There's a BIG SNAKE in the plane, Jock!"
"Oh, that's just my pet snake, Reggie!" Jock replied.
"I hate snakes, Jock, I hate 'em!"
"Come on, show a little backbone, will ya?"
"AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!"

Raiders of the Lost Ark
Part IV
I got out of my last class for the day, and Indy wasn't at the door. He usually was, but not that day. I walked to the University and looked all around. Eventually I walked to a certain room and Indy, Marcus Brody, and two men in casual suits were in there.
"Indy, what's goin' on?"
"I'm talking to these men about something very special. I'll talk to you about it at home. Can you ride your bicycle home?"
"Sure. I'll see ya."
That evening, Indy came home. "Hi. So what's the news?"
"We're going to Nepal tommorow." Indy answered.
"Nepal?!" I called back to Indy, getting some pop from the fridge.
"Yeah. We have to get something from Abner Ravenwood."
"Ravenwood? Isn't that guy related to your old girlfriend?"
"Yeah. He's her father. Anyway, I need to get the Headpiece to the Staff of Ra."
"Huh?" I said, then glurping some of the soda.
"The piece that's of the most vital importance to finding the Ark of the Covenant."
"Nah, really?! What for?"
"Those guys you saw at the U...they're from the Government. They said they tapped into a secret Nazi communiqade (sp?) saying things about Tanis and other things. I concluded that the Nazis are looking for the Ark."
"Okay. Well, MY conclusion right now is that I need some rest and I'm getting to bed. Goodnight."
"Goodnight."

Raiders of the Lost Ark
Part V
Tommorrow, we went to the airport, said our goodbyes to Marcus, and went in the plane. When we got up, there weren't many passengers. Indy sat down and pulled his hat over his eyes after shaking his head to champagne. I was about to do the same thing. Before I did, though, I was able to see a suspicious looking character in a creme colored trenchcoat and glasses that was sitting right in front of us turn to his right and nod behind a magazine.
------------------
After checking in to the hotel in Nepal, we made a change of clothes and headed to Marion Ravenwood's bar--the Raven.
Indy was dressed in his adventure clothes from our Peru event, while I was wearing a white dress-shirt, a blue vest, and jeans. When we reached the place, Indy decided to park privately at the foot of the snowy hill the Raven was on. We peered up through the windshield and saw a crowd of nasty people piling out the door. The place looked slightly of a wide barn shape, but was an old wooden place that was black, not red.
"Let's wait here until they leave, please." I said.
"Good idea." Indy replied.
We waited until they all left, then we trudged up the hill. Before we came inside, I looked back to the street. A suspicious looking man in a black leather trenchcoat and glasses was in front of five men.
-----------------
Marion was at a table, hands covering her head with glass cups in them, face down. She was obviously in stress. "Hello, Marion." Indy said.
Marion spun around, dropping the glasses.
"Indiana Jones. And his sidekick, my little brother's friend. So what brings you here to Nepal?" She said, grinning.
"First," I said, holding my hand up. "I'd like to know where Harry is." Marion hesitated. "I regret every moment of the first time I saw you two arguing. It wasn't pretty. I want to be with somebody around my age if I start hearing glasses shattering and punches being thrown."
"He's in his room." Marion said with an emotionless voice.
-----------------
I saw Harry Ravenwood on his bed facing the radio listening to Sherlock Holmes. He was wearing a blue dress-shirt and khaki pants. He was tan with almost matching hair. He was tall, ten-years-old, and one of my best friends.
"Harry, you still watching that detective junk again??" I said, jokingly. Harry nearly fell off his bed spinning to come embrace me.
"Ben, you adventure squid, how are ya??!!" He said, nearly giving me a noogie.
"Doing great, how about you?" I replied.
"Just fine. Did you come in to escape--" Harry started, but first shut the door and motioned for me to come sit with him on the bed. "--THE WRATH??" He said, laughing.
"Yeah!!" I said, returning the laugh.
"Let's talk. First, what are you doing way over here?" Harry said.
"Well, it's a long story, but to make it a short one, the government commisioned Indy to go find the Ark of the Covenant before the Nazis do. And to do so, Indy had to get some kind of Headpiece to the Staff of Ra or something. Indy thinks it's here."
"Round gold piece with a hole in it and a jewel?" Harry asked.
"That's it. You DO have it?"
"I think so, Dad told me about it before he.... died."
"I'm sorry."
"No offense taken. Anyway, Marion might lie to Indy about the medallion. She's been touchier about stuff that have to do with Dad since the avalanche with him."
We talked a while more before we heard:
"GET OUT!!"
"Uh oh, I think that would be mine and Indy's cue to get on out." I said.
"If it's alright with Marion I'll escort you and Indy to the car."
"Thanks." We went out the door and saw Indy heading to the door.
"Hi, Dr. Jones." Harry said.
"Hi, Harry."
"Marion, can I go walk with Ben and Indy to the car?" Harry asked.
"Only for Ben's sake." Marion answered.
When we reached the car, we saw the black trench-coated man at the bar door. He told something to the big giant one and the giant went to the back.
"That's strange, bar's closed." Harry said.
"I know. Harry, get in the car with Ben." Indy said. We got in the passenger seat together and buckled in.
"What'll we do?" I asked.
"We're going to ride up in front of the hill casually, I'll park there, get out, go in and see what I can do. You two stay RIGHT HERE." Indy replied.
"Okay." Me and Harry said together.

Raiders of the Lost Ark
Part VI
We drove to the front, and when Indy went up, I started talking to Harry, "We should get up there and help."
"One, that would be disobedient," Harry started. "And second, it's really gonna help if we go up there and get ourselves killed. Then Indy would be beating himself up because we would be dead. That would REALLY help." Harry finished sarcastically.
"Alright, alright, point taken."
We waited several minutes tensely, especially seeing the bar on fire! At one point, the leader jumped out the window, stuffed his hand in the snow, and ran away. Eventually, just when it looked like it was going to crash, Indy and Marion came out. They got to a safe distance and it looked like they were arguing, but Marion pulled the medallion from her blouse almost triumphantly!!
------------------
I relaxed as much as I could in Cairo at Sallah's house, but eventually we had to go to the marketplace. We eventually reached a place among the white stone wall marketplace where Indy bought a bag of dried dates. I munched one but didn't like the taste. We moved on. Marion had a monkey on her shoulder, but it ran off.
"Hey, where are you going!?" Marion called off to the monkey. She kept calling but Indy pulled her on with us. He gave her one of the dates. "What's this?" She asked, holding the date but still looking on to the runaway monkey.
"It's a date, you eat it." Indy replied.
Still we moved further on as Indy and Marion had wierd chats about why Indy hadn't settled down or retired or switched to a less time demanding job. We got an apple and bought some. I just started biting into one when a swordsman suddenly jumped in front of me and chopped off the front half. I dropped the other half and ran with Harry and Marion on Indy's command. We ran down a vacant alleyway center and the monkey appeared again in front of us.
"Hey there." Marion called to the monkey. It ran to the right and Marion and us boys followed. In front of us were men with creme suits and a few swordsmen. We ran back and turned right again. I heard on creme suit man say, "After zem!"
"Hey, that was a Nazi accent that guy had." I said.
"Uh oh." Harry said.
Eventually we came to a group of baskets.
"Everybody in the baskets!" Marion whispered.
We all crawled in them. We heard the men and then all of a sudden the monkey started jumping and screaming around our baskets. Marion tried to shush him, but all of a sudden we felt ourselves go up. We were being carried away. "Cut it out you men!" Marion said. It was of no use though. They kept carrying us. All of a sudden, we heard,
"Marion!! Harry!!! Ben!!!!"
"Indy!!!" We all shouted.
I sprung up and punched the man holding me in the jaw. He dropped me and (the Raiders March started playing!! Nah, just kidding!) I punched Harry's captor, and Harry was free, but Marion's swordsman ran faster. I couldn't reach her. I saw through the crowd Indy running to us.
"Ben! Harry! Go to Sallah's house!"
"Okay!" I answered Indy's command.
Me and Harry turned into the alley and saw Indy again.
"Small alleyway, huh?" I said to Harry.
We kept running, taking lefts and rights. Eventually we came to a clearing which marked the end of the market and the beginning of the neighborhood. A truck was there, Indy was there and a basket was put in the back of the truck. The truck started to run me and Harry over, but Indy shot at the man guarding the front of the truck, then the driver. Both hit their marks! Me and Harry ran out of the way as the truck fell around it's side on a dirt clump around the buildings and blew up! Marion was apparantly dead!

Raiders of the Lost Ark
Part VII
We headed to Sallah's place. When we reached the place, we told Fayah, Sallah's wife, that Marion was dead. She wept a little and then went up to tell Sallah. When Sallah came down, he told Harry he was sorry about Marion's death, but that he had to get everybody to the local bar. Before they went in truck, I pulled Harry along to go ahead with me to find out if a friend had told Sallah there was trouble at the bar or what. We reached the bar and saw a creme colored suited man tell Indy to come inside from the balcony because somebody wanted to see him. I raced up the balcony steps. "Indy!" I called.
"Hey!!" He called back. "I need to go in."
We followed him and he turned slightly to the right and saw a man just standing there, arms crossed. "You lookin' for me?" Indy asked him. The man then laughed, then moved foward. Indy looked at the man and grinned at the reaction, but then it turned to a frown. He heard fancy puffing and so did I. We turned around and at the nearest table was none other than..."Belloq."
"You have a lot of guts trying to talk to Indy after what you did in Peru." I said.
Belloq nearly burst out in laughter at this. I was too disgusted to stay around. "Come on, Harry, let's go find Sallah." I said. We went outside, went back and searched for Sallah. In a minute a truck came up with several children. It was Sallah.
"Why did you run off?!" Sallah shouted over the engine.
"We wanted to find out what was going on." I replied. "Sorry if I scared you."
"Accepted. The children will go in to tell Indy I have some important information from the man I told you about earlier, Imam."
When Indy came out, Indy said to Sallah,
"Marion's dead."
"Yes I know. I'm sorry. However, life goes on Indy. There," Sallah said, pointing to the men coming from the bar, "is the proof!" Then he quieted down. "First we will take them home. Then I have something to show you."
----------------
Indy sat apparantly as patient as he could. Imam was translating the markings. Indy had been told the Nazis were already digging for the Ark in a digsite outside Cairo after having found a copy of the headpiece. Indy suddenly jumped up.
"I don't understand how Belloq got a copy of the headpiece. There are no pictures, no duplicates of it anywhere." Indy grabbed a date.
"Neither do I, Indy. All I tell you is what I saw with my own eyes. A headpiece like that one. And on one side, there are raised markings--just like that one."
"Come, come! Sit down. All of you sit down." Imam called. We sat at his floor table. "Now, this is a warning not to disturb the Ark of the Covenant. First, you don't touch or open the Ark itself. Second, do not look upon the Ark when it is opened."
"Yes, but where does it talk about the height of the staff?" Indy questioned.
"Look, it is here." Imam replied, pointing to the second pair of markings on the same side. "It says 7 kadams in height."
"About 72 inches." Sallah said.
"Wait!" Imam said, holding up his hand to avoid anybody jumping to conclusions. He flipped over the medallion and rubbed his finger over more markings. "And TAKE BACK ONE KADAM to honor the Hebrew God whom the Ark belongs to."
Indy grinned in realization and walked to Sallah, date still in hand.
"You said the other headpiece had markings on only one side, are you absolutely sure?" Indy asked.
Sallah grinned and nodded, beginning to understand as well.
"Belloq's staff is too long." Indy started. Then Indy and Sallah said together, "They're digging in the wrong place." Sallah laughed and sang, "I am the monarch of the sea, I am the ruler of the..." He stopped as Indy tossed the date in the air to catch it in his mouth. Sallah grabbed it just before it landed in Indy's mouth. Indy looked confused at Sallah's actions. "Bad dates." Sallah said, pointing to the floor. The monkey Marion loved was dead. Sprawled across the floor after eating poison dates.

Raiders of the Lost Ark
Part VIII
When we parked the truck and got out, I could not overlook the whole excavation because it was so big. Tables were put at reasonable points--for the Nazi soldiers to eat on. Big mine cars carried shoveled dirt from one place to another. Diggers, soldiers and others crammed the place. Little bridges had been made to walk across empty spaces at tall hills. Holes were everywhere. And it was hot in our digger robes. I had been so hot I had taken off my top shirt and left on my undershirt on under the white robes. We started walking.
-----------------
Eventually we came to a point near one of the small bridges were we could see a small wire fence around a large hole, artificial, with a smaller hole at the bottom of it at the bottom. This was on a hill. We crossed a track and Indy asked, "What time does the sun hit the map room?"
"About nine in the morning." Sallah replied.
"Ah, we don't have much time then."
In a moment, we reached the fence. Me and Harry had received a few confused glances but nothing more.
"Dr. Jones, can me and Ben come down with you?" Harry asked.
"First, call me Indy. And next, I think that may be the safest option for you two with all the Nazis around here." Indy said, grabbing a bunch of rope. "Sallah, you keep watch out here."
"Yes, my friend." Sallah replied.
First Indy dropped the staff in the hole, then let go of the bottom portion of the rope in the hole and gave the rope to Sallah. Sallah held on tight to the rope, and we went down.
--------------------
When we touched foot, I shuddered. The floor surrounding the walls had Egyptian caskets with mummies inside them. The place was surrounded by sand, but you could tell that most of the place was carved stone. In front of us was a small, three-step staircase. The top and the steps had numerous carvings. Indy took the staff and went on to the top of the steps. Indy put down the staff and looked to a long carved-in-to-the-floor bar. Indy blew it and brushed it reveiling several markings. Me and Harry were alongside him watching all of this. He pulled out gray and red book, took off the rubber band surrounding it and flipped some pages. He ran a finger along the markings and stopped at one, tapped his finger at it, and checked the book. Then he blew more above the marking reveiling a bar with holes. He ran his finger up the line of holes and checked his book, slid his finger back to a particular hole, and blew sand out of it.
"Harry, put your finger at that hole and keep it there 'til I tell you take it off, OK?" Indy requested as he got up, picking up the staff.
"Alright." Harry said.
He held his finger there. Indy looked back at the sun. Indy checked his watch. I went down to see. 8:59 and 20 seconds to 9:00. Not much time. He pulled the headpiece from his robe and mounted it on top of the staff. Sweat was masking our faces. Indy glanced at his watch. practically 8:59. We all looked back to the hole. The sun was filling the lower hole. Indy finally went to the top again.
"Okay, Harry, you can move your finger now." Indy said. Indy dropped the staff into the hole. He moved slightly to the side. Everybody looked like their muscles were tensing. I antisipated as the sun's light went up the staff. I squinted as it's lighted reached the medallion's shining gold. I looked to the minitiure (sp?) of the city of Tanis, there was a red dot pacing back. The light suddenly reached the jewel and the hole. A brilliant light sped toward the minitiure. It hit in front of a big city wall or something surrounded by statues. Our eyes bulged at the awe-inspiring sight as a light rose up where the beam hit. We were just catching our breaths.
