Chapter 9
Lauren paced in the dark room, hours after arriving. She had her robe discarded, and was wearing what she wore to bed --- a white T-shirt and black shorts. She was looking for any possible means of escape when she heard a voice,
"It's pointless, Miss Jones."
She turned to see the man who captured her with two men. She raised her fists in anger and went towards him as his men pointed guns at her. She stopped as the kidnapper said,
"Smart move, Miss Jones. My men don't take violence too lightly."
"Really? Wonder why?" she said sarcastically.
"You're an unruly hellion. A rare thing in a woman," he commented.
"So?" looking at him defiantly.
The kidnapper mentioned his men to leave. When they left, the man turned to her as she asked,
"Alright, you know my name what's yours?"
"You can call me Patrick," sitting down in the chair in the corner, "Now tell me, what do you know about Brody?"
"He's just a friend. A student like myself in archeology."
"I see. Archeology huh? Like your father?"
Lauren stayed silent as Patrick continued, "I know things about you, Miss Jones."
"Like what?" she said her eyes wandering.
He clasped his hands together and said, "Lauren Marie Jones, born February 14, 1953, daughter of archeologist Indiana Jones and socialite Katherine Tyler. Your mother died when you were sixteen of leukemia and your older brothers finished their third year at Princeton."
Lauren grinned and said, "Mother wasn't a socialite."
"But of course, an music historian who owned a music company which reverted to your father upon her death, until her children become of age to take over."
"You can't use that information on me," Lauren replied, "I'm just a simple minded college student, visiting a friendÖ"
"Oh, no?" Patrick replied, "I've heard about your adventures in Crete and in Mexico with your father. Not a normal girl type things you learned --- firing a gun, handling whip, and your techniques."
"So what?" Lauren sneered.
"Isn't that unusual for a girl your age?"
Lauren looked at him as he said, "Now, you're going to help me get Brody."
"Over my dead body."
"I was afraid of that," as the man pointed a gun at her, "But all's fair in warÖ"
Lauren quickly kicked the gun out of the captor's hands, surprising him. She punched the gun in the face as he landed on the floor with a thud, unconscious. She grabbed his gun, was ready to go out the door, and realized, "Drat, they'll recognize me."
Lauren looked at Patrick's body, smiled, and said, "There's a will and there's a way."

Indiana Jones, his son, Shorty, and Anthony were watching from across the street in an abandoned building at the place where Lauren was held captive.
"What now, Dr. Jones?"
"I don't know, kid," putting down the binoculars.
"Come on, Dad," Eric said, "You were able to defeat Nazi butt and you can't figure out what to do now?!"
It's different this time, son, Indy thought as he turned to Anthony and said, "Ok, talk. Where's the weakness?"
"I'm not quite sure, Dr. Jones. But there is one person, Patrick O'Toole. He's the leader of the Mafia. Whatever he says, goes. He's virtually unstoppable."

Chapter 10
Lauren, disguised in Patrick's clothes, walked calmly down the corridor to find a way out. She came upon the two men as they said in Gaelic, "Sir? The girl? Is she taken care of?"
She nodded, the hat barely showing her face, and responded back in a Gaelic and disguised her voice, "Yes, she told us of Brody. I'm going to take care of him."
"We'll look after the girl."
"No," she commanded, "She is harmless. I will take care of her when I return."
The men nodded as Lauren walked briskly away from them. She looked up, saw light down the hall and a door. As she walked towards the door, she thought, Damn, this was too easy.
Just as she reached the handle, she heard a gun fire as she turned around and saw the men firing at her, "Damn," as she ran out of the building.

"What was that?" Michael said, hearing the shots.
"Gun fire," as Indy looked at the door.
"That's Patrick," Anthony exclaimed, as a person came out running.
"If you say Patrick is invincible to his men, I doubt its' him," Indy said.
"How do you know its' Patrick?" Eric asked.
"That's his hat. I'd recognize it anywhere."
"Shorty, go down there," Indy said roughly.
"Okie Dokie, Dr. Jones," as Shorty ran down the stairs.
"Dr. Jones, why are you sending him to get Patrick?" Anthony asked.
Indy smiled as Eric said knowingly, "Because that's Laurie."

Lauren ran across the street and down an alley. Her heart was pounding, the gun held in front of her, and beads of sweat rolled down her face. She also screamed when she felt someone touch her shoulder and said to her, "Don't yell."
She faced a man and he said, "No questions, follow me," as he opened the door.
Well, it's better than getting shot, as she followed the man into the building.
