: Chapter 58 [Childhood Memories] (written by Goodsport & Indy)

: Indy saw Micah and both Lambert brothers running up ahead, since knowing that they had no desire to be burned to a crisp by the pursuing dragon. He, as well as Michaelson, Indiana Jerico, Indy, IndyAntilles, Quint Glimsby, Ben (friend of Indy) Tom Bombadil and Tessa had the same idea as they kept zigzagging across the plain to avoid Smaug's fiery bursts.
: Up from his position behind everyone else, Indy spotted two unexpected figures in the distance - he couldn't quite distinguish who they were, but noticed that one was male and one was female. As he ran, Indy noticed that Micah and both Lamberts stopped running to speak with the two figures, only to have the four of them turn around and start running back toward him. Indy wondered why, although a few seconds later, the army of Orcs rising from the horizon answered his question.
: Suddenly, Indy heard the flapping of powerful wings above and behind him as hot air was blown onto all his senses. He swiveled around to notice Smaug almost on top of him. Indy heard Tessa screaming his name from a distance, but he knew that it was too late.
: Indy began taking a few steps backwards as he saw the fire from the dragons mouth hurtling right at him. He shut his eyes, knowing the end was near, only to have the ground give out from under his feet as he felt the heat of the fiery streak wiz right above his head past him.
: Indy tumbled down a dark, rocky slope for what seemed like forever, although it really only lasted about half a minute. He finally landed with a thud onto a rock-hard floor. Indy lifted himself, barely able to see in the darkness of the underground cave he was now in. He checked to see that he was all right, then began to step forward.

: - - -

: Indy was walking through the cave, looking for someone he knew. He was now was beginning to worry. These caves may go for miles, he thought. He knew he had to get out soon. I hope the others are all right. He turned the corner, and suddenly saw several spiders, about the size of a small mousepad, crawling on the walls and the floor. He froze. Indy had been scared to absolute death of spiders his whole life. He used to run into corners and cry. He couldn't move at all, and immediately he started to sweat. One of them crawled towards him, and he stared at it. He had always been scared of them, but craved to learn about them. It was kind of ironic. As a boy, his favorite comic hero was, in fact, Spider-Man. Indy was sweating like crazy; it was actually dripping off of his face. He could even hear it hit the ground, the cave was like a graveyard. He tried to run, but he couldn't move. He looked at the rest of the spiders, and tears began to form in his eyes. This is how it always happened, he would sweat, and cry, and he couldn't stop it. He prayed to God that someone would come and save him. Anyone. He started to tremble, and really started to cry. He was sniffing, and breathing heavily. In his life Indy had seen a lot of things, killed a lot of people, almost been killed and more. But he was scared shitless. He was a one-month-old child being attacked by a grizzly bear. If he could move, he would be too scared to do anything. Anything at all. As one of the spiders crawled on his boot, and raised to strike. Everything went black.

: - - -

: Indy opened his eyes, and saw nothing but black. He wasn't awake, something told him so. Suddenly, there was a flash of light. The images were only there for a split second, but he could examine every detail. The lived in his mind, some of these were thoughts Indy never wanted to see ever again. He saw his real mother and father, his two brothers, and himself. They were around a table laughing and eating dinner. Flash. He was at his friend's house, looking up into the sky. He felt the pain in his left shoulder. It was when he broke his collarbone. Flash. He was in a surgery room, the doctors trying to fix his knees. He had a problem with them, and the doctors never did fix it. Flash. He was lying on his living room floor, drunk. He was only fourteen. A bottle of liquor stood beside him. In a few hours he would wake up in his own vomit. Flash. His father's rifle, loaded with the one bullet he saved. He was fourteen. He felt worthless, the doctors couldn't do anything about his knees, and he missed some things he needed. It was cocked, his finger on the trigger, about to pull it. One thought flashed through his mind, and he put the gun down. It wouldn't be the last time he'd be staring down the barrel of that gun. Flash. He was in a car accident, the car wrecked and mangled. His father was dead, in the driver's seat. His mother, in the passenger seat, was dead too. He was crying, holding his mother. He was only ten. Flash. He was staring down the barrel of the rifle again. He missed his parents. He was fourteen. Flash. His first date. Flash. His first kiss. Flash. The first time he had sex. Flash. Indy was crying and crying and crying on his bed. He had been thinking a lot about his mother and father. Flash. A kid in school made a crack about his mother. Indy slowly turned. Looked at the senior, and attacked him. He threw him into the wall, and punched him across the face. The senior punched Indy back, who was only a freshman. He punched Indy again, and then whacked his face with his book bag. Indy fell to the ground. He was angrier than he ever had been in his life. He thought of his parents, gone forever, and grabbed the young man's throat. The senior was turning purple. He was almost dead. Flash. He stood in the rain, at his parent's grave. It was their anniversary. He laid flowers down, and kneeled. Flash. Meg. Indy saw Meg smiling. She looked beautiful. Indy heard a voice. 'Behold your future. I, Gandalf, will allow you to see. Remember this always, you need to survive. Your help is needed. BeholdÖ' Flash. Short Round and the Lamberts were fooling around. Indy heard Brett say to Shorty, 'Alright, a new brother!' Flash. Indy turned to Meg. They were in a church. 'You may now kiss the bride.' Flash.Indy heard giggling. He turned and looked. He was in a hospital. The giggling was coming from a baby. It was in Meg's arms. Indy smiled, and a tear rolled down his face. The child was his. He looked at Meg who smiled. Indy kissed the baby's forehead, and kissed Meg's forehead. He didn't hear anything, but her lips said 'I love you'. The image of Meg holding the baby backed away as fast as lighting. Indy was in darkness, but he suddenly saw a night sky filled with stars. The starts faded out, and he saw his parents. They smiled brightly at Indy. He couldn't touch them, but he knew they were proud. Indy called to them. 'I love you!' They smiled back, and the image faded away. A bright blue light shimmered through his mind. Dozens of colors swirled and swirled. They slowly formed a face. It was himself. He was smiled. The image shattered into a thousand pieces, and behind it came an image of Meg. She was smiling.

: - - -

: Indy's eyes opened. He was lying on the ground in a cave. He felt his Beretta in his hand. How did that get there? He sat up. He was wearing his red Doc Martens, green cargo pants, a white tank top, and a fitted New York Yankees baseball cap. He wasn't wearing this stuff before, but he knew Gandalf had something to do with it. He found several clips for his Beretta in his pocket. He put the gun in there. He looked to the side, and saw Meg lying next to him. She was asleep. Gently he picked her up and carried her to the next room. He sat her against the wall, and her eyes slowly fluttered open. She smiled, and he smiled back. "IndyÖ" she whispered. Something in Indy told him she had had the same visions, perhaps different ones. "I know" he whispered back. He cradled her face with his hands, and slowly leaned forward. She leaned forward too, and kissed him sweetly.

: Chapter 59 [Not Yet Done] (written by Short Round)

: Shorty was groaning on the floor. Aragorn was knocked out. Goodsport was drenched in water on the floor knocked out as well. Indy and Meg were in an alcove in the cave. Micki and Lauren came into the area followed by Indiana Jones. She ran to Shorty and cradled him. Lauren ran to Aragorn.
: "Aragorn?" She asked as she shook him. "Are you okay? Speak to me!"
: "Well look who it is," Dr. Jones pointed out. "The Indy fellow and Meg are here as well. Thank God you guys are still alive! We were worried sick! If you guys were dead-"
: "Dad, look out," Lauren moved her way to Indy and Meg.
: Meg had all bight marks on her and Indy was kind of worn out. As if a truck dragged him, yet no marks or scratches. He put his head up warily to see Lauren.
: "It's gonna be alright, we're gonna get you out of here," Lauren assured.
: Groaning came from where Shorty and Aragorn were.
: "Mom!" Micki yelled. "Shorty is okay!"
: Shorty rubbed the back of his head as it throbbed with pain. His head felt like it was hit with a bat!
: Shorty tried to get up. He stood on his knees to regain himself. He got up and almost tripped over his own steps. Micki put his arm around her so she can help hold him. Indy took a few minutes to get up and carried Meg. Lauren tried to take Aragorn herself. It was quite a hassel. Suddenly a brilliant flutter of light illuminated the cave. They all fell to the ground as Gandalf stood before them...

: - - -

: Micah, Michaelson, Indiana Jerico, IndyAntilles, Quint Glimsby, Ben (friend of Indy), the Lambert brothers, Tom Bombadil and Tessa ran like crazy to avoid Smaug coming after them with the Orcs just a little farther behind yet still catching up. Tom Bambadil was ahead of the rest of the group. Smaug let another belch of fire out making the gang jump to the ground as it nearly brushed over them. They ran up a steep hill and fell down a steeper one on the other end. They took time to get up as Smaug was about to make another round.

: - - -

: Deirdre and The Man ran as fast as they could while the Orcs trailed behind them. Up ahead, the others were hardly in sight, yet Smaug was over them and in clear view.

: - - -

: Gandalf waved his arm as if to indicate something. Shorty seamed more active as Aragorn got up, as if from a deep sleep. Goodsport came walking from one part of the cave. Meg's wounds weren't there anymore. She got up also as if from a long deep sleep. Gandalf then disappeared. Silence for a moment.
: "So are we gonna set off to get out of this cave or sit here waiting for bus fifty-seven?" Shorty said. Lauren sat up.
: "Let's get going. We don't have time to sit around and relax." Lauren said.
: They all got up. They started to march through the tunnel from where Goodsport came from. It seamed to get damper and coldÖ and very spooky. They started to hear a crunching noise.
: "What is this?" Meg asked in disgust.
: "It sounds more like farts to me," Shorty joked.
: They all ignored him as they walked carefully and kicked their feet. The walls started to glow.
: "How the hell?!?" Indy exclaimed.
: "It's moss," Dr. Jones said.
: "Huh?" Indy exclaimed.
: "It's not a regular moss. It's a radio active moss that glows," Dr. Jones answered.
: They were able to see what they were stepping on - Beetles, roaches, and worst of all spiders!
: "NO!" Indy exclaimed.
: "Indy, what's wrong?" Meg asked.
: Indy froze in his tracks. He was re-living those few minutes earlier in the cave except this time there was no flashbacks to take the spiders away from his attention.
: Meg held Indy by the arm and leaded him forward. Indy was stiff and sweating with fear. Meg leaded Indy more and they came to regular ground. Indy was standing there, breathing hard and straining. He took another step, yet his heart was still beating hard with fear. They walked into one section with stalactites. It seamed colder now. As they walked, their feet started to get soaked in the rising water. As they stopped, the water stopped running up their legs. They noticed they were walking straight into a small pond!
: "Water!" Goodsport exclaimed. "You know what this means? It probably leads to an outside pond!" They all grinned in excitement.
: "Come on, let's go!" Shorty said as he walked in the water.
: "Shorty, wait!" Goodsport said. "You don't know how deep it may be. I'm going to go see how far some of it is and come back. You guys stay here."
: Goodsport walked into the water. With the glowing moss to guide him, he took a dive. He saw the walls start to close in more forming a tunnel. As he went in it he felt a vibration. As he got closer, he saw a water-like beast attack. He froze in his tracks. As it attacked him it opened its mouth to get Goodsport, who put his hands out and holding onto the side of the small tunnel, he pushed back as the monster advanced on him. He raced out of the underwater tunnel and went upwards as the beast chased after him. He swam closer to the land where his buddies were and climbed up as the beast leaped out of the water. Everyone jumped in fear as it lurched out of the water. Goodsport crawled towards them in fear. The beast then crawled up to land. Goodsport, not seeing it, was number one on its prey list! It slowly stalked up to Goodsport. A stalactite broke from where it was and flew at them, as if by an invisible force. Shorty, by reaction, put his hand out and caught it.
: Save him, Short Round! Gandalf's voice said to him.
: Shorty held the stalactite with both hands like a lightsaber and ran up to the beast. He swung it like a baseball bat at the beast's mussel! The beast stopped and concentrated on Shorty Round. It lashed its deadly tail at Shorty, who jumped back and fell flat on his back. The beast attempted to jump on Shorty, when Shorty suddenly rolled out of its way. It turned out to Shorty and attacked yet again. Shorty held the stalactite out and it went through the beast's chest! Shorty fell on the ground as the beast, now in agony, lay upon him. The rest of the gang, in shock, went to help the beast off of Shorty. Shorty got up in shock as he seen the gang shove it to one part of the cave. It was a scary experience for him.
: "Thanks buddy," Goodsport commented. "I owe you one. By the way, he was the only one who probably inhabited that water. And I seen a glint of light. It's a possibility it does lead to a river or lake above."
: "Let's go check it out." Aragorn said.
: They all pulled their jackets over their head as an air-bubble and jumped in the water. They had a hard time moving through the tunnel since the jacket's working as air-bubbles, held them back slightly. As they reached the slope going up, they let their bubbles take them up.

: - - -

: They ended up in a bigger, illuminated cave with a river flowing through it. They went to the source of light. As they were at the entrance of the cave they stared in disbelief as they saw small figures running across the plains toward them - and Smaug right above them!

: Chapter 60 [In The Heat of Battle] (written by Indy)

: Lauren, Micki, Indiana, Short Round, Meg, Goodsport, Aragorn and Indy stared out into the open field. They saw Micah, Michaelson, Indiana Jerico, IndyAntilles, Quint Glimsby, Ben (friend of Indy), Tom Bombadil, the Lamberts and Tessa scattering across the field.
: "My God!" Lauren said with disbelief.
: "We need to help them," Indiana Jones said with concern. On the inside, he was still the hero they all loved.
: "Well, perhaps I can be of some assistance," Indy said as he pulled back his Beretta.
: Shorty looked at it curiously. "Where'd you get that?"
: Goodsport took his first good look at Indy as well. "And how did you change your clothes??"
: "Early Christmas presents from Gandalf, I think. Lucky me, I guess. I'm the one that gets to go piss that thing off." Indy grinned.
: Micki eyed him. "Why on Earth are you smiling??"
: "Maybe you'll find out one day," Indy replied seriously.
: "Hate to burst your bubble Indy, but your Beretta won't do crap here," Goodsport said. "The magical field surrounding Valinor, as well as Middle-Earth and the rest of this world for that fact, won't allow it to work."
: Indy looked back at Smaug. "I shoulda read those books."
: "I guess so," Goodsport said. "You said Gandalf gave you the clothes and the gun, correct?"
: "Yeah. So what?"
: "Well, I don't think he did. According to Tolkien, Gandalf would never have created such a weapon of destruction. And even if he would, he has no knowledge of modern weapons."
: Micki looked at Goodsport. "Then who did?"
: "Sauron!" Lauren said. "He probably figured you would go try and kill Smaug with it, but it wouldn't even work and Smaug would destroy you."
: "But Gandalf spoke to me, I'm sure of it."
: "Maybe," Goodsport said. "But I think Sauron is playing tricks."
: Meg looked at Indy. "So, what DO we do?"
: Indy looked at her lovingly. He smiled, and she smiled back. Indiana Jones stared at Smaug, then said, "We need to hurry."

: - - -

: "DON'T CRUSH MY LILLIES!!!" Tom Bombadil screamed as he dodged Smaug's ball of fire. He quickly turned, the fire exploding behind him. Smaug took off high into the air. He was huge. The shadow covered all of them. Indy stood up from behind the trees and said, "Don't worry about your lilies now, Chocise, you've got more important things."
: Micah and the rest of the group stopped and stared at him. "You're alive!" Micah exclaimed.
: "UhhÖ run!" Indy said as he spotted Smaug closing in on them. Smaug went right past Indy - he had no interest whatsoever. Indy walked out into the open plain, in full view of everyone. From behind him out stepped Meg, Shorty, the Joneses and Goodsport. Several of them were holding primitive spears, fashioned out of sticks and sharpened rocks. Indy said to them, "Goodsport, can you help me?
: He looked up. "Sure."
: "The rest of you, please stay back."
: Meg started to protest. "Indy, your gonna get yourself killed."
: He walked to her, and looked into her emerald eyes. "Maybe, but not today."
: Indiana Jones rolled his eyes. "Can't you think of anything original, son? The name, the linesÖ"
: Indy grinned, and hugged Meg.
: He and Goodsport ran for the field, spears in hand.
: "Hey Goodsport," Indy said as the crouched behind a large rock.
: "Yeah?"
: "What are we gonna do?"
: "I thought you knew," Goodsport said worried.
: "In my experience, I do my best work when the odds are against me."
: Goodspor stood up a little, and looked at Smaug. He then looked behind him. He saw two figures running. The Man with the Hat and Deirdre. Behind them was an army of Orcs. Indy saw Goodsport staring, and looked in that direction. The Orcs weren't too far away. They both crouched down, and gulped. Goodsport looked up at him. "Well, the odds ARE against us. That's a lot of Orcs!"
: Indy grinned. He and Goodsport then said the same thing at the same time. "I have a plan!"
: They both smiled, then Goodsport said. "What's yours?"
: "I was planning to make the Orcs fight Smaug. You?"
: "Same thing!" They both grinned then took off to make some confusion.

: - - -

: Back behind the trees, the group was peering out. "We need to do something soon," Lauren said.
: Micki gasped, then pointed to the army of Orcs. "Oh my God!"
: Everyone else spotted the Orcs and the two figures. They also saw Indy waving his spear, getting Smaug's attention.
: Shorty tried to run to Indy, but Micki grabbed him. "Shorty, no!"
: Shorty tried to get out of her grip. "I gotta save Indy!"
: Micki wouldn't let go. "He's a grown man! He can take care of himself!"
: "He needs me!" Shorty insisted as he pointed his thumb at himself.
: Micki still wouldn't let go. Dr. Jones grinned at the clichÈ. Their attention was suddenly diverted back to the field where Indy and Goodsport were confronting Smaug. Smaug roared so loud, it echoed across the whole horizon.
: Micki looked at Short Round. "Okay, save him!"
: They all rushed to help.

: - - -

: "Must keep a-running fast," Tom insisted. He looked behind him and saw Indy and Goodsport standing there. Smaug raised his tail, and they jumped to dodge it. "Yikes," Goodsport squeaked as he hit the ground. Meg, Short Round, Indiana, Lauren, and Micki ran to them and helped them up. "You read my mind," Indy said as he looked at all of them.
: "Move!" Lauren yelled as Smaug let loose a mighty belch of crimson fire. They ran and it exploded behind them.
: "If all of us work together," Meg said, "I think we can defeat it."
: "Oh man, this is heavy!" Short Round said.
: "Me and Indy were gonna make Smaug and the Orcs fight!" Goodsport yelled. "It'll buy us some time!"
: "Run in all different directions!" Indy continued.
: They all nodded. Indy tightened the grip on his spear. "Alright, boys and girls, let's show this prehistoric bitch how we do things downtown."
: Smaug rushed at them and released another gulp of fire. They all scattered. Michaelson and the rest of that gang joined in confusing Smaug. They all scattered about the field, running and dogging fire. Tom Bombadil was complaining about his lilies again when a ball of fire hurtled towards him. Jerico jumped and pushed him out of the way, scattering the flowers. Most of them caught fire. "My lilies!" he yelled. He quickly scooped up a rock and hurled it at Smaug. It hit him, and Smaug turned and looked fiercely. Michaelson perked up, and noticed what was happening. He immediately yelled, "Throw the spears!"
: Indy and Goodsport threw their spears. Smaug had Tom and Jerico back up against a large stone. His head grew back to throw fire, and Tom shut his eyes. "I don't want to a-die!"
: Just as Smaug was about to spit the fire, the spears hit his leg. Smaug turned and saw nothing but the Orcs rushing towards him. Behind the bushes where they had jumped to confuse Smaug were Micah, Michaelson, Aragorn, Indy, Meg, Goodsport, Indiana Jerico, Deirdre, the Joneses, Short Round, Quint, Tom, Ben (friend of Indy), IndyAntilles, The Man, Deirdre, the Lamberts and Tessa. They all hid and peeked at Smaug. He rushed for the Orcs, who stood their ground. As Smaug came upon the Orcs, he released a belch of fire, scorching several Orcs. The Orcs attacked as well, with spears, swords, and bows and arrows. After a few moments, many Orcs were dead. The whole group crept out from behind the bushes, and carefully collected a few weapons. All of the Phoenix people picked up weapons. Deirdre tried to bend down quickly to snatch a dagger, but Indy stuck his sword by her neck. "Don't," he said dryly.
: "And that goes for the rest of you," Micah said. "Now let's get out of here before they finish fighting."
: They all ran off into the distance.

: - - -

: Krede, Nobody, The Chosen, Muppet, Mack, the Fiddler and many henchmen stared across the field. In the far distance they saw a dragon, and many Gammereon Guard-like creatures from Star Wars fighting. A demon like creature appeared in front of them. "These are my accomplices, the Dark Elves." Sauron said. Suddenly several elven creatures appeared, each with dark-blue skin and a shock of white hair; they were carrying maces, shields, swords, daggers, bows, arrows, battle-axes and spears. "Now go!" Sauron insisted. They all armored up and slinked off into the forest. The Dark Elves followed far behind.

: - - -

: Indiana James Lambert tripped over a tree root and fell to the ground. Deirdre kicked him in the side. "That'll teach you, you little SOB!"
: They all had been walking for quite a long time. "Hey!" Brett yelled.
: Meg pointed her sword at Deirdre. "There will be none of that." Deirdre scowled at Meg then continued walking.
: "Where are we going, anyway?" Brett asked.
: Before anyone could answer, they saw several figures up ahead. They recognized Nobody, the Fiddler and Mack (all from previous surveillance pictures) but also saw many other figures. The figures were armed to the brim. "That doesn't look goodÖ" Indiana Jones said nervously. Those who were carrying bows and arrows drew their bowstrings back; those with swords, daggers, spears and other close range weapons tightened their grips. The menacing figures in the distance prepared as well. Meg gritted her teeth.
: "I think we could use some helpÖ"
