In the paragraph right before the picture of the diver, the sentence:

"As they both were sweeping away the fins on their feet, one of them seemed to be fiddling with the plane's controls while the other stood at the doorway looking out."

should be

"As they both were sweeping away the spiders near them with the fins on their feet, one of them seemed to be fiddling with the plane's controls while the other stood at the doorway, looking out."
