: Strangely, I wrote Chapter 2 kind of as a humorous homage to Tessa (since she and The Man with the Hat were writing all these Indiana Jones forum novels at the time), not really expecting anyone to pick it up. Indiana James Lambert then added Chapter 3, humorously trying to kill the story off so I wouldn't continue with it. I then wrote Chapter 4 as a sort of humorous "Oh, no you don't!" to Indiana James. But it was Chapter 5 (co-written by Indiana Jerico and Tessa's husband) that cemented the story as a bonafide forum novel that took on a life of its own in more ways than one! :D

Actually, contrary to what most people may have thought when Chapter 3 was made, James was not trying to kill the story off so it wouldn't continue, James did it as this big drastic change to the what the previous 2 chapters were setting up. James did it so the story could continue, to see what other strange directions it could go :) (remember Goodsport, the end of James' Chapter 3 said: "There were no survivors, or were there?" , basically giving the next author to determine the outcome as they saw fit). I think in a way, the third put the story in gear where it would set up other outlandish, fun incidents to come, and Chapter 4 and 5 served to actually give the story some kind of plot, objective, and structure to what was really meant to be a joke.

In retrospect, I think that was a wonderful, revolutionary idea for fan fiction at this forum. The idea of placing all these forum regulars in Indy-type adventures was ingenious. This story spawned many other fan fics like James and I's The Lambert Bros. and the Quest for the 12 inch Indy Action Figure , Short Round's Remnants of the Dark World Order , Indiana Jayne's Indiana Jones and the Indyfan Forum , and of course the latest, Indiana Jones and the Golden Spider . This definitely revived the Indy fan-fiction (also, notice how stories that are in the same vein as the Tessa story tend to get way more attention then the one's that are just a straight Indy fan-fic?).

: Isn't it strange how things work out?

Yes, very strange! :)

Anyways, that was my 2 cents.
