In Reply to: the tessa story was good to begin with but got a LOT better when indy was introduced and actually did stuff. sadly that only seemed to be in those four authors chapters but not in the others [nm] posted by . on February 28, 2000 at 18:31:28:

...the entire Tessa and The Stranger in the Plane was good from the beginning to the middle to the very end. Somewhere in the middle, though, I had figured that the story needed Indiana Jones in it (like you said, this is an Indiana Jones ffforum). Of all the complaints that some posters from the other forum had mentioned when the story was under way over there (it's a long story... way before you came here!), the only one that I agreed with them was that we were posting a story without Indiana Jones on an Indiana Jones website. That fact gnawed at me for the longest time, and I finally put him in when the timing was right.

Since the story took place in the present time (well, in the summer of 1999 at least... remember, Boris Yeltsin was still the Russian President then, as was evidenced in Chapter 54 :) ), the only Indy Jones I could put in was Old Indy - which I thought was pretty cool since I always liked the Old Indy bookends in the TYIJC TV show, and I don't think that there's an Indiana Jones story significantly involving Old Indy anywhere except in the Tessa story (if I'm wrong, please let me know where there is one). Unfortunately, like you said, most of the authors apparently couldn't stand having him in the story. :_(

But I do see your main point - it does seem somewhat inappropriate to have a story with no Indiana Jones (or Indiana Jones-related material) on an Indiana Jones website.
