I just noticed these places that need correcting.

Micah wrenched onto the whip as the arachnid attempted to right itself, keeping it down longer.

Should be:

Micah lached onto the whip as the arachnid attempted to right itself, keeping it down longer.

He then shoved the trigger of the pistol against its head and pulled the trigger repeatedly, moving the gun slightly with each shot to make sure he did some damage.

Should be:

He then shoved the barrel of the pistol against its head and pulled the trigger repeatedly, moving the gun slightly with each shot to make sure he did some damage.
