: Ok group here's what I have been working on...feel free to add... Tess

: Prologue
: April 1945 -- Germany
: Two weeks after the death of Hitler, a uniformed Nazi hands a spear to a middle aged man. The man obliged it, hands money to the Nazi, and leaves with the spear.
: ìNo one will ever find out the power of the spear,î chastised the man, who disappeared into the dark alley.

: Chapter 1
: April 1952 ñ New York

: Indiana Jones was dressed in a tuxedo, sipping champagne, and admiring the crowd in the ballroom of the Carlyle. He scanned the crowd, spotted someone, and walked into the crowd. He reached a group of people as he said,
: ìExcuse me, ladies, gentlemen,î as he took the hand of a blonde woman. As they walked away, the woman looked at him, smiled, and said,
: ìThanks, I needed the escape.î
: ìI saw your expression from across the room, Kate,î grinning.
: Kate smiled at him as Indy looked at her with admiration. He and Kate had gotten married almost two years ago in India. He was always fascinated by Kate, who now had been named as President of her music company, since their college days in Chicago. When they met three years ago at Marcus Brodyís memorial, it was dÈj++ vu all over again. And now Iím married with three children, he thought. Their first children, twin boys, were born about eight months to the day they got married. And soon afterwards, she had gotten pregnant with their youngest child, a daughter, and gave birth to her two months ago. Indy still shuddered at the thought of what happened this past Valentineís Day with Kate. He could still remember ---

: February 14
: Indy and Kate were fast asleep in their bed, their sons asleep in the next room. Kate was about six months pregnant with their third child and was having a difficult pregnancy. Her doctor ordered her to bed rest by Christmas, and she had to take a leave from both her job at Julliard and her music company. Indy knew how much she hated being confined in bed all day and came during lunch to spend time with her. Indy kept thinking Just survive until May, Kate.
: Indy woke up when he heard screaming and touched the bed next to him. It was empty. He flung the covers, grabbed his robe, and called out, ìKate?î
: ìIndy! Iím down here!î panic in her voice.
: He ran down the hallway towards the stairs and saw Kate at the bottom of the stairs, cradled in a fetal position. He rushed to her and said,
: ìAre you alright?î
: ìIndy, I landed on my stomach. I canít feel the baby,î she cried.
: Indy panicked and called out, ìMaddie.î
: The maid rushed out of her room by the stairs, ìIndiana, Miss Katie, what happened?î
: ìMaddie,î Indy said as he gently pulled Kate to her feet, ìCall the doctor. She canít feel the baby.î
: ìOh, dear,î as she rushed to get their coats, flung them over them, and said, ìGet going, Dr. Jones. Save the little one.î
: Indy rushed Kate to the hospital, where she was whisked away for emergency surgery. Henry showed up three hours later and saw Indy in the waiting room, his face stained with tears and a worried look. He put his hand on Indyís shoulder and said,
: ìWhat happened?î
: ìKate went downstairs and tripped on one of the twinsí shoes. She fell down the stairs and on her stomach. The doctors are working on her to induce labor.î
: ìOh, my,î looking at his sonís face, ìJuniorÖî
: ìDr. Jones,î said a voice.
: ìYes?î replied both Indy and Henry.
: The doctor smiled a bit and said, ìDr. Indiana Jones.î
: ìDr. Mitchell, how is she?î
: ìBoth resting comfortably,î looking at him, ìThey both got lucky.î
: ìBoth?î Indy asked, ìThe baby?î
: ìWe got her out, Dr. Jones. You have a little girl.î
: ìHowís Kate?î
: ìSheís all right. A bit in pain, but ok. Would you like to see her?î
: Indy nodded as the doctor led him to Kateís room. She was resting as the doctor said, ìWe gave her something for the pain. She should wake up soon.î
: Indy nodded as the doctor said, ìWould you like to see your daughter?î
: Indy looked at his wife as the doctor said, ìWeíll be back before Katherine wakes up.î
: Indy nodded as he followed the doctor to ICU nursery where Henry was. Dr. Mitchell smiled at both of them and said,
: ìPut on these gowns. For risk of contamination.î
: They obliged and put on the gowns. They followed the doctor to the bassinet in the corner and said, ìMeet your daughter.î
: Indy looked at the tiny infant with tubes in her nose and hands. He traced the delicate ear with his finger and touched her fingers as the doctor said,
: ìSheís stabilized for now. Everything is fully developed, except she hasnít gotten the ability to suck on a bottle which is why she has the feeding tube.î
: ìWhatís her weight?î Henry asked.
: ìTwo pounds seven ounces. We canít release her until sheís at least five pounds.î
: ìWill sheÖî Indy croaked, trying to hold back the tears.
: ìShe should be, in time,î Dr. Mitchell said, ìSheís a little fighter. I can sense that.î
: Indy nodded as the doctor left them. Indy couldnít help staring at his daughter as Henry said, ìSheís beautiful, Junior. Tiny, but beautiful.î
: ìYeah,î he said softly as he got up and went into Kateís room. Henry followed him as he pulled a chair next to Kateís bed. His son was holding her hand as Kateís eyes fluttered open and looked at him.
: ìHi,î she said weakly.
: Indy couldnít control himself and hugged his wife tight with tears streaming down his face, ìIíd thought Iíd lost you both.î
: -------

: Chapter 3
: Kate touched Indyís arm and said,
: ìYouíre thinking about what happened with Lauren, right?î
: Indy smiled weakly. Kate was able to read his mind when he was quiet and withdrawn. He pulled her closer to him and said,
: ìCan we go?î
: ìSure,î as they walked out to the car, grabbing their coats on the way, and headed to the hospital.
: They walked past the nursesí station to the nursery. The head nurse looked up and smiled,
: ìAh, Dr. Jones and Dr. Jones. I was wondering if youíd show.î
: ìHow is she?î Kate said.
: The nurse picked up a baby from a nearby bassinet and said, ìSheís doing fine. Right, Lauren?î
: The baby gurgled a bit, as Indy couldnít help by smile. Lauren had been taken out of ICU the previous week after reaching four and a half pounds. Kate took the baby from the nurse, sat in the rocking chair nearby, and said to the baby,
: ìHi, Lauren. Itís Mummy,î touching the fringe of brown hair on the babyís head.
: The baby smiled at Kate as Indy looked at the two of them and said, ìSheís like her mom. Beautiful.î
: ìFlattery wonít get you anywhere, Dr. Jones,î she grinned at him.
: ìAh,î Dr. Mitchell said coming into the nursery, ìI was hoping to find you two.î
: ìIs something wrong?î Indy asked.
: ìNo, in fact the opposite,î smiling, ìHow would you like to take your daughter home?î
: ìReally?î Kate said hopefully.
: ìSheís gained enough weight and sheís healthy. I see no danger,î as he patted Kateís shoulder, ìIíve already discharged her.î
: ìThank you,î Kateís eyes brimming with tears. She turned to Indy, smiled, and said, ìWe finally get to take her home, Indy.î
: Indy bent down gave them both a kiss, and said, ìThatís the best news Iíve heard in a long time.î

: Chapter 5
: Two weeks later, Indy was teaching his class about the King Tutís tomb, pointing out excavations done by Howard Carter. Wearing his professional attire and wired rimmed glasses, Indy pointed out a spot on the blackboard,
: ìThis is where Carter discovered ---ì
: The bell rang as Indy stopped and said, ìWeíll go over this next time. Read Michaelson chapter 10 and 11.î
: His students walked out of the class, the girls looking at him with interest. Indy shook his head as he gathered his books. Even though he had gotten married, his female students were attracted to him. He headed to his office and greeted the student assistant,
: ìAfternoon, Annie.î
: ìProfessor Jones, you have a student waiting in your office,î the redhead said.
: ìA student? But I thought I had no appointments.î
: ìShe said you would be willing to see her.î
: Indy shook his head, wishing Irene was back from her vacation, as he opened the door. He peered in and saw the student sitting in his chair facing the window. He coughed and said,
: ìCan I help you?î in an exasperated tone.
: The chair swiveled around and Indy couldnít help smiling at the person he saw there. Kate put her elbows on his desk and said,
: ìYou certainly can, professor. I need some tutoring and I was wondering if you can help me.î
: Indy started laughing as he closed the door. He put his books on the desk and said,
: ìWhat are you doing here?î
: ìThought I would surprise you.î
: ìYou canít fool me, Kate. I know how much you hate staying at home.î
: ìI wanted to stay home. But your father insisted on spending time with his grandchildren. He and Maddie are watching them.î
: ìDad?î surprised a bit.
: ìIndy, you underestimate your father. He loves being with the kids. Iím sure my parents would have too.î
: Indy shook his head, ìMy father and our maid. Thatís unusual.î
: Kate couldnít help laughing; ìHeís human too.î
: ìDonít remind me,î thinking back to when they had shared a woman. He shuddered and said, ìWhat were you up to?î
: ìNothing much. Went to both offices, showed off pictures of the kids, and check on a few things at the museum.î
: ìBeen busy, havenít we?î
: ìHave to catch up someday,î smiling a bit.
: Indy smiled at his wife, who got up from his chair and said, ìBut if youíre busyÖî
: Indy sat in the chair next to the desk and pulled her into his lap, ìNever too busy for you.î
: Kate took off his glasses, sat them on the desk, and she put her arms around his neck, ìDo you how much I love you, Dr. Jones?î
: ìI think I need a reminder,î smiling a bit as he pulled her for a kiss.
: They were passionately kissing each other as they heard a knock on the door. Kate raised her head, and said, ìSomeone is at the door.î
: ìIgnore it,î he said in between kisses.
: The knocking became persistent as Indy groaned and took Kate off his lap. He straightened his clothes and went to the door,
: ìAnnie, Iím in with ---ì as he saw a man standing there, ìCan I help you?î
: ìDr. Jones? Indiana Jones?î
: ìYes?î
: ìMy name is Jonathan Gottard. May I speak with you?î
: ìAre you one of my students?î
: ìNo,î looking at him hard, ìAnthony Brody referred me to you,î mentioning the museumís curator.
: ìWhat about?î
: The man handed Indy a scroll and said, ìIt has to do with the Spear that pierced Christ during the Cruxification.î
: Chapter 6
: Indy stared at the man, and asked, ìWhat do you want to know?î
: ìDo you recall the story of the spear, Dr. Jones?î
: ìIt pierced the side of Christ,î Kate answered from Indyís desk, ìThe Spear of Destiny, if I remember right.î
: Jonathan looked at her coldly and said, ìI asked Dr. Jones, miss.î
: ìShe is Dr. Jones,î Indy said, ìAs well as my wife.î
: ìAre you an archeologist?î Jonathan asked.
: ìNope, Iím a simple minded music professor, but I know about archeology. Minor in college,î Kate answered.
: ìI see,î Jonathan said. As Indy asked,
: ìWhat do you want with me?î
: ìThis scroll,î as he pointed to the paper in Indyís hand, ìtalks about the power of the spear. It was founded by Hitler before his demise and sold to a man shortly after his death. The man that bought it was my father.î
: ìWhat does this have to do with him?î Kate asked.
: ìMy family has lost possession of the spear years ago to a man in France. Now, the spear has been lost and buried by this man. Even his next of kin do not where it is. I need you to find the spear.î
: ìFor what purpose?î Kate asked, ìTo behold power imaginable?î
: ìI see your wife is your spokesperson,î as Jonathan looked at Indy.
: ìMy wife is part of the board of directors at the museum that funded my expeditions. Sheís pretty knowledgeable about anything archeology related,î smiling a bit at Kate, ìBut I am curious why you want the spear.î
: ìTo prevent the end of the world, Dr. Jones. I have a feeling that someone will find the spear and end the world as we know it.î

: Chapter 7
: ìThatís ridiculous,î Kate exclaimed.
: ìRidiculous or not, Dr. Jones,î Jonathan said, ìI wanted to prevent that from happening. Claim the spear and have it put to rest.î
: Indy thought for a moment and said, ìIíve retired from fieldwork, Mr. Gottard. I can refer you to anotherÖî
: ìNo!î Jonathan said, ìI need your expertise on this matter. You are well known in the field. At least consider it,î as he took a card, scribbled a number on it and said, ìI will be there for the next few days,î handing Indy the car.
: ìI can guarantee I wonít change my mind, mister,î Indy said.
: ìI think you will,î as the man tipped his hat to Indy, ìGood day, maíam. Dr. Jones,î as he left.
: ìWhat a vivid imagination!î Kate exclaimed, as she looked at her husband, ìIíve never heard of the spear causing that much trouble. Only used for someone who wants to gain power.î
: Indy chuckled a bit and said, ìAre you sure youíre not the archeologist, Kate?î
: ìPositive,î smiling a bit, ìShall we go home?î
: ìLetís go to dinner first,î giving her a kiss, ìthen head home.î
: Kate nodded as they left the office. But Indy didnít tell Kate that he was interested in doing the fieldwork but because of what happened in India, he avoided it, afraid of anyone getting killed, like Marcus Brody years before.

: August 1949
: Indy and Marcus were in England, overlooking the secure transition of artifacts Nazis had recovered. It took them time to find the exact location of their hiding place. Once they did, Marcus had arranged a flight to New York from London. Marcus was talking to Indy animatedly,
: ìLook, Indy. All these artifacts, religious and mythical, it will be a good addition to the museum.î
: ìGreat, Marcus,î as he smiled at the older man. He was a surrogate father to Indy when Henry and Indy were not speaking, a good friend to them both.
: Marcus looked at Indy and said, ìIím surprised that no Nazi sympathizer has been here to cause trouble.î
: ìItís good that they arenít,î looking around.
: Marcus studied Indy and said, ìThereís something you need to know, Indy. Itís about ---ì
: A gunshot was heard in the terminal. Marcus slumped forward into Indyís arms, the bullet in his chest. Indy put down the man gently as he saw the gunman yelling,
: ìThatís what you get for interfering with the Fuhrerís plans, Dr. Jones.î
: Before Indy had time to react, another shot rang out, this time hitting the gunman, killing me. Indy spun around and saw the London police. One of the Bobbies said,
: ìWe heard about someone following you. Looks like we were right.î
: Indy rushed to Marcusís side, pulling out a handkerchief from his pocket to stop the bleeding and said, ìWeíve get you out of here, Marcus.î
: ìIndy,î as Marcus coughed up blood, ìI wonít make it. Iím dying.î
: ìNo, youíre not,î refusing to believe it.î
: Marcus gasped for air and said, ìIt is my time, Indiana. But you need to know ---ì
: ìKnow what?î
: ìAbout what happened a long time ago,î he sputtered and went limp.
: ìMarcus,î shaking him, ìMarcus!î yelling.
: ----

: Marcus Brody died in Indyís arms at the airport. Indy did the right thing and buried him in his native London. A month later, he met Kate and realized what Marcus was trying to tell him before he died. If he only saw me now, he thought.

: Chapter 8
: Kate stirred in the middle of night, unable to sleep. She felt around in the dark on the other side of the bed and woke up. She looked at the dent in the pillow and saw Indy was missing. Curious, she grabbed her robe and got out of bed. She looked first in the childrensí rooms and couldnít find him. Not wanting to disturb the maid, she went down the stairs and saw a study door closed a stream of light from underneath. She went to the door, opened it and saw Indy looking out the window, a glass of brandy in his hand.
: ìAre you all right?î Kate asked.
: He turned around and faced his wife, ìDidnít mean to wake you up.î
: ìI couldnít sleep,î she admitted, ìYou?î
: ìIíve been thinking.î
: ìAt three in the morning?î as she noticed a photo album on the desk. She looked over and saw the picture Marcus left Kate after he died ñ the three of them in their college days smiling for the camera, ìMarcus?î
: Indy nodded as Kate put a reassuring hand on his shoulder, ìIndy, he would have wanted you to get on with your life.î
: ìI know,î as he took a sip of the brandy.
: Kate looked at her husband and realized, ìYouíre going to France, arenít you?î
: Indy choked on his drink and asked, ìHow did you knowÖî
: ìI read minds,î with a twinkle in her eyes. Her eyes softened and said, ìItís to get back at what the Nazis did to Marcus, isnít it?î
: Indy nodded as Kate said, ìGo on then.î
: ìWhat about you?î
: ìI think I can manage without you,î smiling a bit, ìBut then I can come with youÖî
: ìAbsolutely not,î raising his voice, ìI almost lost you in Goa, Kate. And two months ago. I donít want to lose you again.î
: ìI have to leave for France on business anyway,î she said matter of fact, ìSo you donít have to worry about me.î
: ìWhat about the kids?î
: ìIíve talked to Lynette,î mentioning her cousin, ìSheís arriving in town tomorrow. She offered to keep an eye on them. And Maddie and your father are here everydayÖî
: ìKate, no,î remembering Goa too vividly, ìIím leaving tomorrow morning.î
: ìThen go. Iíll meet you in a few days.î
: Indy shook his head and said, ìYouíre too stubborn.î
: ìSo are you,î smiling at him, ìIíll stay out of the way. Promise.î

: Chapter 9
: Indy arrived in Paris in the afternoon this next day. He looked up and saw Kateís uncle, who waved his arms and said,
: ìIndiana, hello.î
: ìFrancois,î he grasped the older manís hand, ìHow did you know I was coming?î
: ìKaterina mentioned it to me when we talked this morning,î he replied saying Kate's French name, ìI thought you can use some help.î
: ìFrancoisÖî he started to say as the older man held up a hand and said, ìI am a nobleman, Indiana. I can help you get any information you may need. With the names DíAnjou, Dion or Tyler, you can anywhere.î
: Indy couldnít help but smile and nodded, ìAlright.î
: ìCome on,î Francois said, ìI have a car in front. You can stay with Julianne and me.î
: ìIn the chateau?î
: Francois nodded and Indy thought back to the Christmas Kate and him spent there. Her grandmother was alive then. Now deceased, she had left the estate to Julianne and Francois upon her death since Julianne was the only child left alive. Kate and her cousins got a generous inheritance from their grandmother.
: ìHow are the children?î Francois asked interrupting Indyís thoughts.
: ìTheyíre all fine. Laurenís finally home.î
: ìAnd Katerina?î
: ìSheís ok. Stubborn as a mule though.î
: Francois couldnít help laughing; ìSheís always been that way. Gets it both from Alexandra and Steven. A double dose.î
: Indy couldnít help but grin, ìBut Kate has a lot more.î
: ìI agree,î as Francois threw Indyís bags in the trunk, ìSheís got both of their brains, Stevenís coloring, Alexís blue eyes and beauty.î
: ìJulianne is Alexís twin.î
: ìOnly by looks,î with a twinkle in his eyes, ìCome letís get going. I have a few things that might help you on your search.î
