: Oh well, I had nothing to add to his scenes anyway.

He should have been acknowledged to have existed, at least. He was a part of the story at that point, whether any particular author liked it or not. Authors shouldn't pretend that what was written before didn't exist or did not happen!

:Also I have never seen the old Indy bookends from YIJC. I have heard ALOT of bad stuff about them and I didn't know what to think of them.

Anything bad you heard about it (or good, for that matter) would just be an opinion... nothing more. There was even a debate about this a while back at the regular forum, and the vote for liking/disliking those bookends were about 50-50.

But who cares?!? That's not the point. You didn't have to think of the bookends, but only of Old Indy in the story that we were writing at the time!

: Also, have you noticed that the stories without Indiana Jones seem to take off faster and be more popular here?

I'm not so sure about popular. All the stories on this ffforum without Indiana Jones were/are generally written by one person (or two at the most) and usually tend to be ignored by most of the forum (except for the Tessa story initially without Indiana Jones, although some Tessa story authors seemed to think that there was no Indiana Jones in the story at all even until the very end :( ).

As for how fast the Tessa story took off, remember three things:

    (1) It was started during the summer. Most of the posters here were off from school, so they had all day to read and write for the Tessa story. By contrast, less people are writing nowadays because school is in session (whether its junior high school, high school or college/university).

    (2) Notice that the first several chapters were very short. It was only later that longer, more complex (and thus more interesting and intriguing) chapters were being written. So of course there would be more chapters at a faster rate by default.

    (3) Until near the end of the Tessa story, there was no set order for writing chapters. In other words, people were often writing and posting chapters at the same time, leaving it up to me in the Chapter logs to have to either choose which Chapter is the 'right' one or (more often) simply slicing & dicing the two chapters together. Plus near the end of the Tessa story, people started writing chapters nonstop not worrying about not staying consistent with the overall story.

True, the Golden Spider story is taking more slowly than the Tessa Story to reach thirty (or whatever) chapters, but that's because most of the authors are in school now, and (more importantly) most of the authors are taking the time to carefully read past chapters and actually stay with the continuity, keeping the story on track (Thank God!). And the chapters were longer with more detail right off the bat. Heck, it started with a plot from the very beginning, whereas in the Tessa story it took a lot later to actually figure out the actual plot of the overall story (the search for Valinor).

Don't get me wrong, I thought the Tessa story is great (from beginning to end)! Just realize that it taking off faster was due to very different circumstances. And the VERY bottom line is that this is an Indiana Jones forum, and thus should have Indiana Jones (or at least Indiana Jones-related) stories. Granted, the Tessa story started off not being an Indiana Jones story, but even in that story Indiana Jones was (thankfully) put in! :)
