: :     Why are they going home now? Aren't they going to search where the Golden Spider could be, try to find out who had taken it from the golden altar table in the web site? Wasn't the whole reason they traveled to Brazil in the first place to find the Golden Spider (I know that it wasn't to fight some giant arachnoid! :D )??? I can't picture Indiana Jones just giving up like that! :(

: Maybe he means his real home and that he knows there is nothing more to be found here, so he thinks they should go home and get some more information before running around in the jungle looking for something that may be in Europe for all they know. So instead of giving up, he's making the smart descision to get more info before continuing.

If you click here and read Question #5, that would be strong evidence to a keen eye like Jones' that whoever had taken the Golden Spider was in there recently. It's unlikely that it would be in Europe 'for all they know'. With such strong evidence of someone recently being there, as well as Jones finding a scratched letter 'E' in the indentation of the gold altar table (direct quote from Chapter 1: "He examined the carved letter. It obviously was made fairly recently - it looked just like the letter 'E' sketched on the 'E' mail."). I'm not so sure if it's smart to travel back home thousands of miles away when the evidence shows that they still could be very close!

: :     OR... when Indiana Jones said 'home', did he mean their temporary residence in Brazil, where they would regroup, recuperate(sp?) and formulate another plan to find the Golden Spider?

: Maybe that's it, it realy could be either way.

That would be the more logical choice. ;)

: :     Please let us know, so Deirdre will know which way to write Chapter 9! :D

: Part of the fun of writting these stories (for me) is that we don't know, you guys don't know what I meant by it, and what was meant by it in the story will only be found out when Deirdre interprets it and writes accordingly. If I wanted that much control over what happens next, I would have specified exactly what he meant. But as it is, the next part of the story is as much a surprise to me as anyone else, and as long as such things don't ignore past events in the story, that's what makes it fun.

Hmm... usually, I try to put in as much detail as possible so readers know exactly where I want it to go next - but that never stops the following author from misinterpreting me anyways. :D

And by the way, why were you shouting??? :(
