: : I was chosen to perform for my alma mater at my grade school reunion. (I used to be semi professional singer and dancer.) So I've gotten together with my brother's band to practice on some songs I wrote and songs out now. As soon as I make a demo tape I'll send a wav file to anyone interested.

: Yeah, I'd like to hear it. :)

: There are grade school reunions out there? Wow, I learn something new everyday. :D

: Actually, my ten-year high school reunion is coming up next month (although I graduated in June of '89, so I'm not sure why the reunion wasn't held two months ago). I'm kind of looking forward to going, but I'm afraid that I'll be the only one there who isn't rich or successful or married or anything like that. :(

: On the plus side, though, my senior year of high school was by far the best year of my life, and I wouldn't mind seeing many people there again! :)

: Do you think I should go?

By all means, you should go! You'll have a wonderful time (unless, of course, there is no air conditioning). Truthfully, though, you'll probably have an even better time at your 20th, so there's something to look forward to! I found that when I attended the 10 year reunion, many of the people still collected into their cliques, and were still too focused on external things; but when the 20 year reunion rolled around, we all had a blast, because more of us were settled and established, and it didn't matter so much anymore how we dressed and who was with whom, know what I mean? So go, and have a great time, because the truth is, the time goes by really fast, and it doesn't really matter in the long run whether you are married, have a career, drive a Maserati, or any of that stuff... What matters is that the best year of your life was your senior year in high school, and a lot of time has passed since then, and "stuff" comes and goes, and all that's really important is how we touch the lives of other people! (And when you go to reunions you find out some of that stuff.) I'll get off my soapbox now; thanks to The Man with the Hat for letting me use his space and his email address or whatever to speak my mind! :-)
