    Believe it or not, it's absolutely true! 8|

    The original designer of the Golden Gate Bridge decided that instead of having the bridge a metallic black/gray like most bridges, that he would instead paint it an 'International Orange' as to have it blend in with the surroundings. The U.S. Navy instead wanted him to paint the Bridge black with yellow stripes, apparently to make it easier for passing ships at night.

    We all know whose decision won out in the end. :)
