Chapter 1

: ---by Kent Allard

: 1958

: Indiana Jones was driving down a California road looking for a place to stay the night to rest his tired old eyes. His father had warned him it would be wise not to take this trip, but he thought he should; it was a rare occasion when such a discovery of this capacity would be made and he felt he needed to take the trip.
:
: The aging Indiana continued driving down the dusty dirt road, the moonlight lighting his way. He grumbled as he looked down at his map; he was about to have to make a turn he was looking for the correct way to go on the map. His eyes closed for a moment, only for a moment but enough for another car to be coming down the street. He opened his eyes to a loud car horn. He jerked his car to the side spinning off the street - when his car finally stopped he realized he had gotten off the road and was lost. He began driving again until he found his way back on to the street. He was now lost and confused; his eyes kept wanting to close to sleep.
: "Damn," Indy exclaimed.
: He kept going, though; he was about to close his eyes again to fall to sleep when suddenly a small motel appeared ahead; behind the motel was a small house. The sign next to the motel read "Bates Motel". He thought what the hell, pulled over and got out of the car. He walked to the front desk, but no one was there.
: He began to walk back outside when he saw a tall young man walk from the house. He saw Indy standing there and began to run towards him.
: "Can I help you sir?" the young man asked.
: "Yes. I would like a room for the night," Indiana grumbled.
: "Okay, follow me to my office. My name is Bates… Norman Bates. My mother owns this motel," Norman said while leading him into his office.
: "Really?"
: "Yes… hey, are you lost sir?"
: "Yeah."
: "I thought so. The only people who come here are usually lost," Bates said.
: "Hmm," he grumbled in a low voice while signing in, then waited for Norman Bates to take him to his room.
: As they walked to the room Indiana inquired, "So you live with your mother?"
: "Yes?"
: "Why haven't you gotten married? It almost sounds pathetic?"
: Bates made a silent grunt then looked at his visitor with evil eyes. "A boy's best friend is his mother!"
: "Well, I mean if I were you I would move out, put her in padded walls and go somewhere nice."
: He made another evil look and gave an equally evil grin. "Well my mother needs help. I could never put her in a nut house."
: "Oh well."
: "Well sir here, here is your room. The bed is there" Bates indicated to Indy as he pointed at the bed. "There is a closet and bathroom here. We have some notepads with the name 'Bates' printed on them… just in case you want to write your friends and make them jealous." He grinned, pointing out the things.
: The man departed and Indiana sat down on the bed thinking for a moment, then suddenly he heard some shouting. It was the man's mother - or at least that's what Indy thought.
: "Norman, I don't like visitors!"
: "But mother…"
: "Don't mock me boy, I want him out of here… NOW!"
: At that Indiana grunted and shut the window, locked it then did the same to the door. He lay back on the bed to think about things again, when suddenly he heard a scraping by the door.

Chapter 2

: The scraping became louder. Indiana turned his head toward the door, at that brief second of his head turning the door crashed down, from the shadows he saw the outline of an elderly woman with her gray hair pulled up, then she stepped from the shadows revealing an evil smiling face.
: “Norman?” He said surprised. He was dressed in woman’s clothes with a fake gray wig.
: But before he could pull himself from the bed, Norman Bates had jumped inside the room and began stabbing Indy in the chest repeatedly, Indiana lay there moaning for a few moments then drew silent. He lay there with his blood pouring from inside him. After a few moments Norman had left the room, ran up the stairs and into the large house.
: From outside you could hear the shouts: “Oh mother, blood, no you couldn’t how could you mother,” Norman ran outside and into Indy’s room. He clutched his mouth as he looked at the dead body; he took his car keys. He left the body there and went outside again, he started the car and drove to a large lake, he got out of the car and pushing the car into the water watched it sink under the water, after that Norman walked home.
: He took a bucket of water and soap, he then proceeded to Indy’s room, and he looked around in surprise.
: “What the…”
:

:

: Indiana had snuck out of the room, and was hiding in the bushes. That damn bates kid had taken his car, he looked toward the house, he saw an elderly looking woman sitting in a window, he started to move up there as Bates was cleaning his room, he clutched his chest from the pain. He moved up toward the house, opened the doors and proceeded inside, he walked up the stairs and into the lighted room, he saw the elderly shape sitting there, he turned the rocking chair around, it slowly turned and he finally saw the dead body sitting there eroding. Indiana stumbled back knocking himself to the floor, his eyes wide, at that moment Norman ran in with his woman clothes on and knife in hand. This time Indy was ready he grabbed the knife hand and knocked him to the floor he was using his regular adventure strength even though he had retired himself from his adventuring days long ago. He repeatedly hit him till unconscious. After he was out Indy ran from the room took the keys to Norman Bates’ car and sped down the road.

: About two hours later Indiana was still tired and began to again fall asleep, he pulled to the side and took himself a brief nap.

: A car horn honked at him as he opened his eyes wide, he clutched his chest, he looked down. The red stains were gone and he didn’t feel any pain, he looked up with a smile on his face, “It was all a dream,” he said aloud happily. “A dream!”
: He got back on the road and kept driving, he kept smiling until he came to a large house, a window was lighted and an elderly shape was sitting in the window, he read the sign beside it. It read “Bates Motel” oh no not this time Indiana said, gaining speed and went faster as he went past the motel, he suddenly saw a young man step from the office.

: “Oh shit…” Indiana grunted. He popped a tape into his cassette player, as the car drove off we hear the Raiders March playing loudly.

: THE END

:
: Okay note: This is just a sort of spoof of Physco by Hitchcock and I intended for it to be that way, please don't sue me I'm poor anyway. Also enjoy, I wrote this for enjoyment and actually had thought of it as sort of a Indy vs. Norman Bates, but I ended up doing the whole thing as a short story. Hope you have as much fun reading it as I did writing it :)

: Later,
: Kent
