: CHAPTER THREE

: "You see," the fat stranger in the red suit bagan, "this star is very important. Not only to the good little boys and girls of the world, but all the boys and girls who will ever live."
: Indy's sceptibility took over. "How do I know that this is all legit?" Indy asked.
: The fat man walked over to a bookshelf and removed a large volume with a large, ornate "J" written on the spine. He lugged the book to his desk and opened it. Pushing his glasses up onto the bridge of his nose, he began to read.
: "Henry Calvin Jones Junior. hhhmmmmmm. You've killed on several occasions. Thievery. Yes...you've been very bad."
: Indy sat there, dumbfounded.
: "Yes. Yes." the red-suited stranger said. "I've checked it twice. There can be no mistake."
: Indy spoke. "On occasion, I've done what I've had to do!"
: "I can arrange to have your name taken off the list."
: "You can do that," Indy said, "but I'm still just going back home and sit with a drink in front of a fire."
: "Isn't there anything that you would like for christmas that would entice you to get back the star for me?"
: "No," Indy said, flatly.
: "Not even the possession of a certain Hebrew golden box from a certain book. I think you know the one I mean.
: Indy was shocked. "That's classified information." Indy's mood changed. "Can you get it for me?"
: "I can do anything," the stranger said. "I'm Santa Claus."
