: Chapter 44 [Not Really!] (written by Indiana James Lambert)

: Brett, James and Aragorn stepped up to the deserted building. Over the door, a sign read 'LambertFilm Ltd. - a Journey in Filmaking'.
: "It sure was a journey to come here. I wonder why old gramps would make a studio in Switzerland? I mean, he was born in Paris!" James said as he brushed some snow off his Wested jacket.
: "Let's just see the place first!" Brett said as he opened a manila envelope containing a large set of keys for various rooms and doors.
: "Whoa! That looks like a dungeon master's keys! How many keys can a building require. Don't you agree, Aragorn?" James said, turning to Aragorn.
: Aragorn showed a faint smile. It was the first sign of emotion that James had seen from Aragorn since greeting him at the airport in Poland.
: "Yes, a lot of keys, Butterball!"
: "Will you stop calling me that!" James laughed.
: Brett finally found the proper key and opened the great doors. There he found a large library of scripts and film reels.
: "Wow! This is great!" Brett said as he thumbed through the many scripts and film reels.
: The roof had a large stained-glass dome. The floor was hardwood. It had a feel of elegancy to it all.
: James began to close the door behind him when something caught his eye, but only for a second. He could have sworn he saw a figure in black. But he dismissed the thought. Probably my imagination James thought to himself as he closed and bolted the door.
: Aragorn walked up to the main desk. A plaque was engraved on the desk. It read: 'Jill Masterson, head secretary'.
: Now where have I heard that name? Must have been from some sort of movie Aragorn thought.
: James opened a door on the other side of the room. He was surprised to see a room filled with movie props and costumes. There were knight costumes, robes, WWII American Army uniforms, a giant rubber octopus, several paper-plate like flying saucers, a coffin, a row of guns from the 1930's era and a lot more.
: "Guys, you have to see this!" James yelled excitedly.
: Brett ran in, followed by Aragorn.
: "Wow! This is pure gold! You could make a thousand films with this stuff!" Brett said.
: Aragorn picked up a sword that was lying on the ground. It was mad of real metal, a noble sword.
: "Hey look at me! I'm a 30's gangster!" James said holding up a Tommy gun and with a cigar in his mouth.
: James couldn't help but pull the trigger. A bullet came out of the gun and hit the roof.
: "Geez, will you be careful with that thing!" Brett yelled.
: "How was I supposed to know there would be bullets in the gun! It's a movie prop, for Pete's sake! I didn't know it would be loaded!" James retaliated.
: "Guys, please. It was an accident, and that's all that matters. Come let's take a look at the rest of the place." Aragorn said to Brett and James.
: They looked around the studio for another hour. They saw the studio's own viewing room, the executive's meeting room, a few soundstages, the editing room, the art department, and the pre-production room. And of course, their grandfather's own personal bathroom, complete with a shower.
: "Whew! Guys I'm wiped! I'm going to take a shower if you don't mind," Aragorn said.
: "Go ahead! We'll be right here in the lounge room," Brett said, as he sat on a leather couch.
: "Thanks guys," Aragorn said as he put down his jacket on a chair.

: - - -

: What are they doing in there? Jerico thought as he watched the studio from a distance.
: I'm not sure how I'm going to handle this...
: Then Jerico pulled out his cell phone. "This is an awful risk," he said to himself.
: He dialed Aragorn's number. It started ringing.

: - - -

: *RING* *RING*
: Brett and James looked at each other.
: "Aragorn brought along a cell phone?" Brett asked.
: "I guess. Here let me take it, I saw this on Seinfeld once!" James said as he pulled Aragorn's cell phone out of his jacket pocket.
: "Hello, you have reached 'Moviephone'! If you want to hear the listings of the movies playing today, press one on your touch-tone keypad!" James said in a Kramer-like voice.
: "What!?" a voice said on the other line.
: Brett tried to control his laughter, but it was too hard.
: Oh all right! Jerico thought. He pressed the number one on his cell phone. He checked to see if it was the wrong number on his dial screen, but it was Aragorn's correct number.
: "On your touch-tone keypad, please enter the first three letters of the movie you wish to see," James continued.
: "I don't see where this is going," Jerico muttered. He punched in three random numbers.
: "You have selected Agent Zero! If that is the movie you wish to see, please press one!" When James heard no beep he continued on. "Uhhh... You have selected Brown Eyed-Girl! If that is the movie which you want to see, please press two!" When he heard no further answer, only heavy breathing, he said, "Well, why don't you tell me which movie you wish to see!?"
: "What the hell is this?" Jerico groaned as he turned off his cell phone.
: Meanwhile, Brett and James were laughing uncontrollably.
: "Hahaha! You are the man, James!" Brett proclaimed.
: "Thanks, I try. Don't tell Aragorn about thisÖ he'll have my head!"
: "No problem!" Brett said as James slipped Aragorn's phone back into his jacket pocket.

: Chapter 45 [Turnarounds] (written by Indy)

: Indiana Jerico was in the woods outside the Lambertfilm studio. He was thinking, when suddenly his cell rang. "Jerico here."
: Indy was nervous. He knew it was the right thing to do and he wanted to do it, but he was nervous.
: "Hi, Indiana."
: "OhÖ hi Indy."
: "Listen, Jerico," Indy forced out. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry for pulling my gun on you, and just acting like an asshole. I know you're having and have had some problems, and I don't know what they are, but I know they're affecting you. So let's try and put that behind us."
: "That must of hurt."
: "It did, Jerico."
: "But, I agree with you. We've been friends and we've worked together," Indiana Jerico said, as he thought back to when they rescued Short Round.
: "Yeah, we can get along."
: "Well, Indy. I need to go. The call of duty."
: "Have fun. And come back alive."

: - - -

: The Fiddler drew his pistol, and walked around the corner. He saw Indiana Jerico dressed in black sneak through a window. Persistant, isn't he? he thought. Well, I better take 'em out.

: - - -

: "Why can't they just leave us alone," Brett said as he looked into the video monitor. He, Aragorn, and Indiana James had found Gramps' security system, and saw both the Fiddler and Jerico sneaking around.
: James pulled out a pistol and flipped the safety off. "Let's get them alive."
: He, Brett and Aragorn rushed out of the room and into the den. Jerico was coming through the window, and he looked up to see two pistols pointed at him. "Mr. Jerico," James said. "Welcome to Lambertfilm."
: Brett walked over and took Jerico's guns away from him. From the other end of the room, Jerico saw the Fiddler coming up behind the Lamberts and Aragorn. "Aragorn, behind you!"
: Indiana Jerico thought that Aragorn couldn't be a traitor, and he was right. Aragorn turned around and took the Fiddler by surprise, knocking him down and collecting his guns. James and Brett joined him. "Nice work, Rag," James said as he smiled.
: Aragorn looked at them holding a gun in Jerico's face. "Yeah."
: He punched Brett in the belly, then kicked James in the groin. Jerico immediately snatched a gun, and held it at James, Brett, and the Fiddler.
: Jerico smiled. "Very nice work."

: - - -

: Meg and Indy had come back to Washington D.C. with Tessa. Tessa was telling The Agency everything, from the stranger on the plane to what Meg was wearing that day. Everything was working out. "Hiya Meg, Indy," Goodsport said.
: "Hey there, Goodsport," Indy replied with a smile. "What have you and Shorty been up to," he asked, as he looked at Short Round. Henry Jones, Jr. was with them as well, smiling. "Well, I've been doing some research, and these two have been helping a lot. Dr. Jones here-"
: "Call me Indy, please," Henry interjected.
: "Indy here seems to know a lot about Valinor. We were just about to head to the Library of Congress again. Wanna come with?"
: "I'll go," Meg said.
: "Count me in," Indy agreed.
: As they headed for the door, Indiana Jones leaned over to Indy and asked, "What's your name again?"
: Indy looked at Henry and smiled. "Indy."
: Indiana Jones chuckled. "How original."

: - - -

: Several agents from the Order of the Ringwraiths watched Indiana Jones, Indy, Meg, Short Round, and Goodsport get out of the car and head into the Library of Congress. The Order's intentions were hostile, as well as the other man who was watching beside them. He was known only as Joshua. Deirdre was telling him to eliminate some agents, that they were becoming too much of a threat.
: "Joshua," she asked.
: "Yes ma'am," he replied.
: "Kill them any way you want to."
: "Yes ma'am."
: Joshua got out of his car and slinked after Meg, Indy, Henry, Shorty, and Goodsport with a smile. He was a very big man, with blond hair. He was very powerful, very fast. He stood about 6' 3". Joshua didn't have a gun with him. He didn't need one, or so he thought. He preferred to kill with his bare hands. Soon after Joshua entered, four of the Men with Hats stepped out of their vehicle and followed Joshua.
: Inside, Goodsport and the others were checking around for some information on Valinor. Just as Joshua walked up behind Meg, Henry opened his mouth. Eyeing Joshua, he said, "You don't look too friendly."
: Joshua smiled, and Meg turned around and saw him. He grabbed her and threw her into a bookcase. Meg hardly knew what was going on as she hit the ground hard. Indy looked up just as it happened and saw that Joshua was ready for him, but Indy tried to get to Meg instead. "Are you okay?" he asked.
: She rubbed her head, then groaned and said, "Yeah I'm fine. OuchÖ"
: Meg opened her eyes all the way and saw Joshua coming up behind Indy. She gasped, then cried out "Indy behind you!!"
: He got up and turned around to see Goodsport grab Joshua. Indy saw the size difference, and gulped. If only we had guns, Indy thought. Just when we thought we didn't need them! Joshua elbowed Goodsport in the jaw, then turned around and upper-cutted him. Short Round came up and kicked Joshua in the side, only to find it had no effect on him whatsoever. Joshua pushed Shorty's foot away, then grabbed him by the collar and gave him a mean right hook. Shorty landed on the ground and Joshua kicked him in the side. He turned to Indy and knocked him in the stomach. Indy wasn't expecting it, and crumbled to the ground. Joshua lunged at Meg and grabbed the back of her shoulders. Meg elbowed him in the side, turned around and spin-kicked him in the face and followed through with a jump kick to the stomach. Joshua fell backwards, and Indy came behind him as he got up. Indy gave him a right hook to the face, a left, a right, and grabbed his shoulders and head-butted him. Joshua stumbled back, and was now bleeding. He rushed Indy and grabbed his shoulders, then swept his legs and forced him onto the ground hard. He kicked Indy in the side, then picked him up and punched him in the face three times with his left hand, the last one knocking Indy down again. Joshua pulled him up again and punched him in the belly, then again in the face. Goodsport got up and saw Indy hit the ground. He rushed towards the fight, but stopped when he saw Indy shoot up. Indy looked pissed. Indy walked up to Joshua who chuckled at him. Indy wiped some blood off his lip, then said dryly, "You know what happens to people who piss me off a lot and hurt my friends?"
: Joshua chuckled again, and then threw a left at Indy, who caught it. Indy twisted his arm and elbowed Joshua in the kidneys three times, who gasped in pain and fell to his knees. He slowly got up, and tried to kick Indy. He caught Joshua's foot, who almost immediately tried to get Indy with the other one. Indy caught that one too, and let Joshua fall. He dug the heel of his boot into Joshua's stomach, who groaned in pain. Indy grabbed Joshua's hair and pulled him up. He drew back his right hand, and sucker punched Joshua. Joshua fell to the ground. Indy looked at him a moment, still pissed, then turned and saw Meg, Goodsport, Short Round, and Henry staring with there mouths open. He sighed, walked to Meg, and pushed her bottom jaw closed. They all turned to him and he smiled. They all jolted to alertness again as gunfire rang out. God, I wish I had my Beretta! Indy thought. They turned to the source, and saw the Ringwraiths level their Uzis at them and Joshua. There was complete silence, since the building had been evacuated. Only one sound escaped from Indiana Jones' lips.
: "Oh shit!"

: Chapter 46 [Turning The Corner] (written by Goodsport)

: The Himalayan winds on top of Mount Annapurna gusted relentlessly. It was rare for one of the highest and most desolate spots on earth to have visitors as it did this day.
: "Why'd you guys bring me all the way here from my post in New Delhi?" shouted Quint Glimsby through the howling wind, holding his laptop close to him as he trudged in the snow toward his partner.
: "Didn't you hear?" Ben (friend of Indy) shouted back, "Our top computer 'golden-boy' turned tail on us! You're our new top geek now!"
: Quint ignored Ben's chiding. "Brett Lambert? Defected?!?"
: Ben shook his head as he headed through the snow toward Glimsby. "Not exactly! He didn't join the DWO, but is self-employed now!"
: "That's too bad!" answered Quint through chattering teeth, "But that still doesn't answer my question. Why am I here?"
: "Calm down!" Ben retorted, "I'm in the same boat as you. I was suddenly pulled from Poland to assist youÖ I guess since I know a little something about computers, too. I just got here a little before you did, that's all!" He then reached into his parka and pulled out some papers. "Micah said that our satellites discovered this!"
: Quint took the papers from Ben's mittened hands and peered at them through his thick bifocals. With similarly mittened hands, he opened his laptop and compared the papers with his screen.
: "Looks like some kind of disturbance has been occurring here in the last few days," Quint thought aloud, "but the computer can't register exactly what kind of disturbance it was."
: "And there's no one here to ask," Ben added.
: Quint almost dropped the papers and his laptop as the ground began shaking violently. The shaking lasted for about ten seconds.
: Both men looked around, only to see a familiar figure heading towards them on the short bit of white landscape they were standing on.
: "Have you guys figured it out yet?" IndyAntilles inquired when he got to his two passengers, "Hurry it up! The 'copter is still running, and I don't want to have to choose between dying from an earthquake or dying from the cold!"
: "No, we haven't found anything yet!" Quint answered, clearly irritated. Icicles were beginning to form on what little of his pasty-white face was exposed to the air. "Let's get out of here and figure this out in a slightly warmer place!"
: "I concur," agreed Ben, "there's gotta be somewhere in Nepal where I don't have to constantly worry about frostbite!"
: As IndyAntilles led Ben back to the helicopter, Quint glanced backwards. Off in the distance, he saw the slight ripple forming in mid-air.
: It's starting! Glimsby realized to himself, as he felt the warm glow of the ring underneath his mitten intensify. One way or another, after several millenniaÖ the beginning of the end is upon us! He then closed his laptop, stuffed the papers into his parka and headed toward the helicopter.

: - - -

: "ATTENTION IN THEREÖ"
: The Uzi-bearers were caught off-guard, jerking their heads sideways to hear the voice blaring through the bullhorn outside, several floors below.
: "ÖTHIS IS THE D.C. METRO POLICE. COME OUT WITH YOUR HANDS UP, AND NO ONE WILL GET HURT!"
: The agents of the Order of the Ringwraiths looked back across the room and saw their targets no longer there. They then turned to each other, agreeing wordlessly that escaping without a trace was a higher priority at the moment than eliminating their targets. Live to fight another day, they knew. We will catch up to them again soon enough! They lowered their Uzis and dashed out of the room.

: - - -

: Meg and Indy peered past the bookcase they were hiding behind across the room, only to catch the men with Uzis running out the door.
: "Who were they?" Meg asked.
: "And why didn't they stay and kill us?" Indy continued Meg's thought.
: Meg turned to Indy with a lopsided grin. "Indy, you sound disappointed!"

: - - -

: Tessa was reclining on the bed in one of the quarters of the Phoenix HQ, watching the soccer game on television. She had been asked so many questions for the last few hours, and was now enjoying the time by herself.
: "YES!!!" she cheered, as her hometown Chicago Fire scored the last minute game-winner against the local D.C. United. In front of D.C.'s home crowd at RFK Stadium, no less!!!
: Tessa's celebratory dance was cut short by the sudden glowing of the ring on her hand.
: "Why does it keep glowing on and off?" Tessa asked herself.
: "Noble Theresa!" answered a somewhat familiar, grandfatherly voice in her head, "Head to Valinor! However you do it, you must do it quickly!"
: "Valinor!" remembered Tessa, recalling her encounter with Gandalf on his white swan-boat out in the North Atlantic. "You never told me how to get to Valinor!"
: Tessa stared at her intensely glowing ring for a minute, until it finally stopped glowing. Tessa knew what she had to do.
: She turned off the television and left the room, heading straight for Micah's bare office.
: Micah lifted his head from the pile of paperwork on his desk. "Tessa. Can I help you?"
: "MicahÖ we need to head to Nepal!"

: - - -

: Goodsport and Short Round walked back to the middle of the library room from behind the bookshelf where they were hiding. Now they faced the open doorway that was filled with their potential killers just seconds before.
: "Whew!" Short Round expressed his relief.
: "You said it, Shorty!" grinned Goodsport, "We almost bought the farm there!"
: The blunt impact on the back of their heads almost surprised the two as much as their sudden elevation off the floor.
: Growling loudly, Joshua ran the length of the long red carpet to the window and smashed Goodsport and Short Round through the glass.

: - - -

: The crowds of people gathered in the humidity outside the Library of Congress gasped as they saw two bodies crashing out the window several stories high and plunging toward certain death. The policemen holding the crowds back turned around and stared helplessly.

: - - -

Goodsport and Short Round closed their eyes in mid-air to avoid seeing the deadly pavement. What they didn't see was the sudden glowing of their rings.

: - - -

: Joshua glanced out the window at his two falling victims, admiring his handiwork.
: "NOW FOR THE REST OF YOU!!!" Joshua screamed purposely as he turned around, his voice echoing off the walls.
: The second-to-last thing Joshua saw was the old man with the eye-patch several feet away, pulling the rug that Joshua was standing on, sending him flying out the window. The last thing Joshua saw was the pavement several stories below.

: - - -

: The few D.C. policemen who weren't holding the exasperated crowd back ran toward where the three bodies were about to meet the ground. The sudden flash of bright light blinded everyone in the area for several seconds, although the sound of a body smashing against the ground could still be heard. When the policemen could see again, they turned in disgust as they saw a body smashed against the ground, blood and body parts spread around the area. Bewildering to the policemen, though, was that only enough was seen for one body, not threeÖ and judging by the tattered clothes all over the ground, it was definitely the body of the last guy who flew out the window.

: - - -

: Goodsport and Short Round were standing in the middle of a grassy plain, with a cloudy sky thundering overhead.
: Short Round turned to Goodsport. "Are we dead?"
: "Not yet!" answered the malicious voice inside both of their heads, "But soon you'll wish you were!"
: The two Vanguards gasped as they saw black rivers of substanceless darkness in the distance, heading straight for them.
: Goodsport and Short Round felt the urge to run. "Yes, follow your instincts!" encouraged the voice.
: "NO!!!" cried out the wisp of smoke that had materialized in front of them. Almost instantly, the smoke turned into a familiar figure.
: "I will hold off the Evil One for the moment," Gandalf commanded, pointing his long finger at Short Round, "valiant Goodsport, you must take the Successor to Valinor quickly. It has begun!"
: The Successor fidgeted uncomfortably. "It's started already?!?"
: Goodsport motioned to Short Round to be quiet. "Sir Gandalf, are we not now in Valinor?"
: "Only in consciousness, but not in the whole!" answered the wizened wizard.
: " I thought that you were no longer able to contact me outside of dreams," Goodsport continued.
: "The unfortunate 'rupture' that is beginning to open between our two worlds has temporarily allowed me to help you still," Gandalf replied, "first you must find the Ring of Faramir and the Sword of Aragorn. You must also find Aragorn and Indiana James Lambert and, along with Theoden's Spear and The Successor, take them all to Valinor immediately!"
: 'Why Indiana James?!?" both Vanguards asked at the same time, dumbfounded.
: The black rivers of substanceless darkness in the distance began inching closer.
: "Quickly, now!" Gandalf exclaimed, as he lifted his staff and enveloped both Goodsport and Short Round in a bubble of light.

: - - -

: Meg, Indy and Indiana Jones stepped outside and were being led by the D.C. police toward the police detective in charge of the case. How are we going to explain ourselves out of this one without revealing the Phoenix group? Meg and Indy wondered to themselves.
: Before they reached the detective, a dark, four-door car with tinted windows pulled to the sidewalk. A dark-suited man wearing sunglasses stepped out of the front passenger side, walked over to the detective and, without saying a word, flashed a badge and handed the detective an official-looking piece of paper.
: The trio could hear the detective swearing from a distance. He then nodded to the policemen, who allowed Meg, Indy and Indiana Jones to follow the dark-suited man to the car. The man opened the back door, and the three of them stepped inside.
: They all stared in astonishment. "Michaelson?!? What are you doing here???" It wasn't every day that one of the top officers of the Agency came to pick his agents up himself.
: "You've got a few hours to pack up your stuff," Michaelson informed them, "we're heading for Switzerland, and then to NepalÖ including Micah and myself!"

: - - -

: Fortunately for Indiana Jerico and Aragorn, both the Fiddler and the Lambert brothers were unconscious when they handcuffed them an hour ago. It would have been difficult to handcuff them in their current state.
: "Aragorn, how could you betray us like this?!?" Brett pleaded to Aragorn.
: "Shut the hell up, you damn Canucks!" the Fiddler screamed at the brothers.
: "You shut up, hoser!" retorted Indiana James.
: "Yeah, eh?" followed Brett.
: The bright flash of light from outside streamed in through the window.
: Indiana Jerico turned to Aragorn. "What the hell was that?!"
: "I'll check it out, " Aragorn said, "you watch these guys."
: Aragorn stepped just outside the door of the cabin to find two familiar bodies lying on the ground.
: "GoodsportÖ Short RoundÖ how'd you guys get here?!?"
: The two Vanguards stood up. "It's a long story," started Goodsport, "but we've got to get you and Indiana James to Valinor, pronto!"
: "What?" Indiana Jerico peered outside, "You found the location?"
: The Fiddler saw his opportunity. He body-slammed the distracted Indiana James into his companions outside. Being able to only use his legs to stand up, the Fiddler himself was unable to stop the Lambert brothers from dashing outside and heading toward the nearby woods.
: "Dammit!" the Fiddler shouted, following the brothers, "I'll kill you both yet!"
: Indiana Jerico and Aragorn unentangled themselves from Goodsport and Short Round, stood up and started shooting at their escaped prisoners. It was too late.
: "Oh, great!" Goodsport exclaimed, "We need to take Indiana James to Valinor as well!"
: Indiana Jerico, Aragorn, Goodsport and Short Round quickly dashed toward the woods in hot pursuit.

: - - -

: The Dark World Order's jetliner was well over the Atlantic, heading toward Switzerland.
: "WHAT?!" Big Boss Nobody shrieked over his cell phone, "You let Tessa escape???"
: "Sir, it was a commando raid!" Deirdre told her boss, "Don't worry, we'll find her!"
: Nobody cursed to himself. Then he put the cell phone to his ear again. "Do so IMMEDIATELY!!!"
: "Yes sir!" answered Deirdre, as she heard her boss hang up the phone. Her expression grew enraged, as she grabbed the combat knife off her desk and flung it right at the enlarged picture of Indiana James Lambert pasted over the dartboard on the wall.
: Nobody put the cell phone back into his jacket pocket as he saw Krede stooped to the floor. "Are you all right, my friend?"
: "I think so," Krede answered, sitting back in his chair, "I just got this strangeÖ feelingÖ that Switzerland isn't where we should be flying to."

: - - -

: The Man with the Hat came about a few blocks away from the Library of Congress before seeing the police blockade. "JOE!!!" The Man gasped, as he began sprinting toward the Library.

: - - -

: As the Phoenix agents were at the front of the plane planning strategies and such, Tessa sat in the back of the plane with the elderly Henry Jones, Jr.
: "It's an honor to meet you, sir," revealed Tessa.
: "Always a pleasure to be with such a beautiful young lady," the archeologist grinned, "and a talented writer, too. I've read your Aztec Spear novel. You took a few liberties, but overall it was very accurate!"
: "Thank you," Tessa blushed. "Tell me, Dr. JonesÖ"
: "Indiana. Please, call me Indiana!"
: "Oh, okay," sighed Tessa, "IndianaÖ why is it that you're seeking Valinor?"
: Indiana Jones thought for a moment. "Like all my lifeÖ to seek knowledge about new things, I guess."
: Tessa smiled as she stood up. "Please excuse me, Indiana. I have toÖ wellÖ"
: "By all meansÖ I'll still be here!" he chuckled.
: Indiana watched Tessa as she headed toward the washroom and closed the door behind her.
: Indiana considered to himself whether his search for Valinor was worth all the trouble, especially to a person of his age. He then carefully reached into his wallet and took out a faded, black-and-white photograph. Only a split second of gazing at the photograph reaffirmed his desire - no, his need - to find Valinor.
: "My dear Kate," a tear rolled down Indiana Jones' cheek as he gazed at the picture of his late wife. "We'll be together again soon!"
