I used the text and sketches from the game diary while inserting the pages from the L-Archives in appropriate places. It's as close a replica as you'll find. Hopefully, one day I'll get to see the original...

You'd be amazed what you can do with a matte brown spray paint. Spray the book lightly (use paper and masking tape to protect the pages) and sprinkle a little bit of sand on the wet paint to add texture. Before it dries completely take an old rag and rub the cover vigorously. This will give it a nice aged look. I actually do the first coat of my blank book with black paint, so this should work well on the blank book you've seen. If you have any other specific questions, feel free to e-mail me.
