: I don't think that you can really compare the two. Firstly Star Wars
: is really sort of an epic Sci-Fi story where as the Indy adventures
: are really paying homage to classic adventure serials of the 30's and 40's.

Actually both are an homage to 30s serials. Star Wars is a Buck Rodgers
Flash Gordon remake, while Indiana Jones is more of a take on the action
cliffhangers (can't think of the name of one of those serials). Lucas
used to watch reruns of those serials on TV as a kid, which is why he is
so influenced by them.

: Anyway I personally prefer The Indiana Jones movies, I generally hate
: any thing to do with Sci Fi except of course Star Wars.

Well I got to see Raiders in the theatre when I was six, and it was the
first movie I went where I didn't fall asleep in. I've seen all the movies
in the the theatre while I only saw Return of the Jedi in the theatre (not
counting the re-releases of 97). I love the Star Wars trilogy but Raiders
of the Lost Ark is my all time favorite movie. Nothing really beats it IMO.
The Star Wars films each have a few nagging problems but Raiders is just
perfect in terms of pacing, story and acting.
