I don't know about chivalrous. He certainly does end up doing good things, but Indy is more of a Han Solo than a King Arthur. He's always after the fortune and glory. Remember how he nearly made the same mistake as Elza by trying to take the Grail? I think you do. In my opnion, chivalry takes a back seat in Indy's personality.
