Do you really think Raiders is a parody of the old serial adventures? Homage, certainly. Pastiche, maybe. But Parody? I, for one, don't think it was.

I do agree to some extent on Last Crusade, though.

The whole adventure movie genre, of the Raiders-type, has been created by Lucas and Spielberg with these films. But with LC, It seemed to me that they'd somehow felt the need to cater to all of the generic markers they'd developed in Raiders. And so, LC became a generic adventure movie. It broke little new ground, and this is something that I'd hope a fourth IJ installment would avoid.
