: : Back in 1984, over in Europe, when I went to see the theatrical release of "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" I distinctively remember one scene at the beginning in the plane: when the pilots look to see if Indy's asleep, I clearly remember that the next scene was an egg rolling off of one of the crates, with the egg landing in Indy's palm unharmed... Am I making this up? I've never seen that scene ever again. Is my mind playing tricks on me, or has this scene deliberately been cut from the video release? Does anybody know?

: I don't recall seeing that scene in the movie, but it appears in the novelization of the movie as you describe.

Yeah, it was a scene from the novelization. That's what you're remembering. AND the scene where Indy and Marion kiss in the Raven was shot but cut.
You would be recalling this from the "Making of" Raiders special where the scene briefly appeared. There is also a scene in the Temple of Doom novel where Indy, Willie and Shorty have an impromptu contest to out-sing each other as they ride on the elephants.
This would seem to be an invention of the novelist but a photo of (what appears to be)this scene was in the Film Yearbook for 84/85- A british publication. It's the only time I have ever seen this picture. I still have the book if anyone would like to see a scan.
