: Yeah, good call on the Hobbit. It's another great tale and as Aragorn mentions, does set up Lord Of The Rings. Although it's not too important to read it first, there are references to places in the Hobbit which give you an idea of the scale of the quest in Lord of the Rings.

: I haven't read the Silmarillion yet so can't say about that. But certainly you should get the third Ring book. But you'll have plenty of time to find a copy while reading the first two! I know it took me a while to get through it all.

: Have any of you played the old computer text adventure games of Hobbit or Lord of the Rings? You can now get these from Commodore or Spectrum computer emulation web sites. They are basic in their format compared to today's standards but they are still very enjoyable and atmospheric games.

: Hope you enjoy the books, LFM.

Hey, I was looking around last night in my brothers old room and I found two copies of the third book. Pretty weird. He probably got the separate books and then decided to get the box set of the trilogy. Unfortunately the box has fallen apart. But anyway, I haven't done anything with the any J.R.R. Tolkien books ever in my whole life. Thanks for the info guys!
