Yeah, I'm a little pissed off, too. Shakespeare in Love was probably the least worthy of the five films nominated. I have yet to see The Thin Red Line, but Elizabeth, Life is Beautiful and Saving Private Ryan were all better films, in my opinion, than Shakespeare in Love.

: : Spielberg won Best Director for Saving Private Ryan. Was anyone suprised when Shakespeare in Love won Best Picture? I was and I wasn't. It was an excellent film but SPR deserves it more.

: I don't know why I care about such things but it makes me really mad! "Saving Private Ryan" was not only the best picture of the year but probably one of the best of the decade after "Schindler's List."

: I'm glad it got best cinematography, though. Kaminski really deserved it!
