Leather groom...or lack thereof

Hi all:
I've had no luck in obtaining the leather groom I ordered from Wested last September, and as was explained to me a while back I understand that UK customs has "trouble" with the exportation of it. So I know it's not Wested's fault. Now the purpose of my post is to ask if anyone has a reasonable alternative to the leather groom that Peter recommends that would be available in North America (Canada). I'm not willing to put any old spray on my jacket, so I need a time-tested and proven solution. Any ideas gang?
