He went to a community college first and took anthropology. Then he got
into USC (University of Southern California) a big and very expensive
film school. It has a lot of prestige because guys like Lucas and Francis
Ford Coppola went there in the 60s. Also because of its California location,
movie studio reps often check out students there for new talent. But its
not really that big an advantage to go to famous film school to get into
the movie business. Most of the grads of such schools do not go on to fame
and glory like Lucas. If you really want to be in the film industry you can
trained at smaller schools or you can be like Steven Spielberg and just go
out a make movies on your own. Although its worth noting Spielberg wanted to
go to USC but his grades were too bad to be accepted.

If you want to go to USC then start studying, making movies with your friends
and save your money! You've got four years to get ready for college, make them
good years, good luck!
