The Flying Wing used in the movie was based off of a design by Jack Northrop.
So the book "From Star Wars to Indiana Jones" was right to say the is no such thing as a Nazi Wing because the Nazi never created the Flying Wing. It was creared here in America back in the late 40's & .
early 50's. So..."TELL YOUR SISTER YOU WERE RIGHT ABOUT ME... YOU WERE RIGHT" (Vader R.O.T.J.)
The closes design to the wing used in the movie is the (N-1M "Jeep")
The Wing's technology is still used today. It was incorporated in the Stealth Fighter (Night Hawk) which was used in The Gulf War and the B2 Stealth Bomer which goes into full service in 1999.
Pretty cool if you ask me.
P.S. On April 2 20th Centry Fox has obtain the Prequel Rights to Star Wars.
: : The Flying Wing your looking for is called the (THE N-1M "JEEP") created by Jack Northrop.

: I'm certainly no expert, but from what it says in the "From Star Wars to Indiana Jones" book it sounds like the wing in Raiders was a fake plane - and not based exactly on any one real plane, either! I'll type it all in when I have the chance... (I know, I know...)
