Especially around midterms or finals, the students suddenly realise how far in the hole they are, and attempt to get that "extra bit" from the professor. Then again, the professor can be under the gun because he hasn't kept up with the grading, and students actually have no idea where they stand in a class. Happens here almost every semester. Regards.
