Actually I would tend think there may be more creatures out at night...like scorpions. What other kind of predators are there in the Sahara besides scorpions and snakes?

Anyway, I saw this show on Discovery Channel or TLC all about being stranded in the desert. There was an episode where an arrogant ill-prepared man took a woman and kid and got lost driving across the Sahara in the 1950s. Their car broke down and the man went walking at night to find a nearby town and during the day he slept and fried in the sun. He miraculously made it to town and returned with help but then he drove ahead of the convoy and got lost again in a sandstorm. To make a long story short, the kid was eventually saved by French Legionnaires but the man and woman both died.
