I always assumed the mispronunciation of "Belloch," instead of the
correct pronunciation, was simply a matter of people speaking a
different language and not knowing exactly how to pronounce the name.
It would be similar to Americans saying "Paris" while Parisians would
pronounce it "Parie" (phonetically spelled, of course).
