Hi,

I am in the process of taking an Asian Cinema class (INDIAN CINEMA) and was working on a few possible topics for my term paper. I was wondering if it would be feasible to try to extract some parallels between conventions used in typical asian movies (e.g. cinematic techniques, recurring indian nationalist themes, etc..) and this film by Spielberg.

An interesting note that I learned of was that for every movie shot in India, the money used MUST BE SPENT IN INDIA (e.g. shooting costs, etc..). This was also true with that old James Bond film that was filmed in India if I am not correct.

But anyways, if anyone knows of some film theory resources that might point out some similarities between Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and typical Indian Cinema, I would greatly appreciate it.

Please respond to my email if you can:
