I sometimes wear a hat too, similar to Indy's but by no means identical. I just like hats of that type, and the look of them. Around here (Michigan) it tends to be mistaken as a cowboy hat, not Indy's fedora, but I've never been teased about wearing it. I notice people staring sometimes, but nothing major. I am not wearing it to look like Indy (although maybe the Indy movies and other movies of that time period influenced me a bit.) You're right about many people being "sheep", especially younger (high school age) kids. Many of them do whatever TV, etc. tells them is cool this year, and don't think for themselves. I don't mean to insult anyone by saying that, but it would seem to be the truth. Whether you're wearing Indy hats, Han Solo vests or Bozo the clown shoes, don't let the opinions of others stop you from doing something you like!
