1. the first whispers of an Indy 4 started being overheard in 1992, shortly after the production wrapped on YIJC - no doubt, Lucas was having a good time (as he had said) and was renewed by this series of his excitement for the character.

2. to this day, Harrison has commented that he'd like to do another one. Never once did he say that it was a certainty, or that he was happy with any known scripts.

3. Spielberg, the 'iffy-est' of them, never seemed to be too excited by any of hte scripts he had read. his 'garden of eden' response was very shady and vague and did not seem to be the right mark. 'Sides,Max McCoy beat them to the punch - twice!

4. virtually all the scripts that have turned up have been either falsified or mere fan-fiction.

5. the real scripts that did turn up from Jeff Boam and Jeb Stuart pretty much sucked - by everyones standard.

6. Rick McCallum, the closest he'd ever gotten to saying anything was definate: "Well, we have a script that everyone seems to be happy with" (Source: SW Insider).

Now Hercule, what can we ascertain from these facts?

It's going to take More Than Dynamite of an idea to get these three (or four) jazzed up enough to go out there and actually do it. How often does a 'm.t.d' come round in Hollywood?

Star Wars and Indy were throwbacks to a film type that was last explored in the 30's, and it's taken 20 years for the SW Trilogy 2 to happen.

Even if an Indy 4 started filming RIGHT NOW it would not be in theaters for another two years!

Never hold your breath. Buy the YIJC dvd's when they come out if you want your fill of new Indy action.
