Problems with Indy games

I've had copies of both Indy3 and Atlantis for ages. Last year I got a new computer with Win95 and _PAID_ LucasArts for a disk swap.
When the new disks arrived, I couldn't get them to work. The games seemingly installed right, but the sound doesn't work.
The tech-support people at LucasArts have been no help at all. They feed me loads of computer gibber and say I need to install DOS drivers and such, but I have no idea what they're talking about!
Can anyone help me out?
Why did these games work in Win3.1 but not in Win95?
