Oh yeah, I just remembered a connection between "The Maltese Falcon" and Indiana Jones -

In the computer game "Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis": in Algiers, go into Omar's house and click on the black bird statue that's on the table. Indy will walk over to it and say something to the effect of, "This is the stuff that dreams are made of!".

The last line of "The Maltese Falcon" was (if I remember correctly), "The stuff that dreams are made of!".
