Their names are places?

Ok, as I looked over a worldmap I suddenly realized that many of
the character´s names in the Indy trilogy are based on places.
Indiana is of course too obvious to even mention but
(Marion) Ravenwood isn´t that a city in the US? and
Khatanga (the freighter captain in ROTLA) is a place in northern
Russia and finally Wuhan (Indy´s friend in TOD) is pretty big city in
China. Does anybody know of places called Belloq or Sallah?.
Anyway I just thought it was peculiar.
