Some fedoras come with a snap brim. The brim is curled upwards all the way around. Indy's hat in the picture is more or less horizontal on the back, with just the outermost edge being curled up. Contrast this with the TOD scene where Indy is checking out the controls in the airplane, and you will see a truly turned down back brim. Also check out some old movies that feature fedoras and you will see most fedoras with a really turned up back brim. I personally don't like them this way, and Indy obviously didn't either!
