I feel as though it's inappropriate to blame George Lucas personally if the licensing department at Lucasfilm "cracks" down on what they perceive as a copyright infringement. As we have seen though, the Indy jacket Wested controversy is, for lack of a better word, a hoax. If it was factual, I hardly believe George Lucas, a man consumed with so much press and preparation for the next Star Wars film, would PERSONALLY contact Peter and tell him to quit making the jackets or else. To assume as much is ridiculous. That's why Lucas built his company. That's why he employs people. It frees him up toGASP make movies. What a demon.
