Hitler was, after all, a very superstitious person. Just after he became the third Reich, one of the first things he did was march on to that museum containing Longinus' Spear, the spear that was supposedly used for piercing Jesus' side. and took it.
He believed that everything connected to the mystical and the occult would give him the advantage over the Allies.
