You know what they say... clothes define the character. I'd say it's safe to say they'll stick with the look, it's not too inapropriate for the period anyway (assuming it's going to be the 50's). Just look at some of the early James Bond movies - you can see Sean Connery wearing a fedora quite a lot, and that was set in the mid-sixties.
