I noticed that there was a question regarding whether or not Tanis was a real city. In the back of my Ryrie Study Bible, there are several maps. On map 3, The Route of The Exodus, there is a city titled Zoan/Tanis. Zoan is probably it's current name, Tanis the ancient one. Also, it's only 15 miles from the Egyptian fortress of Ra'amses. Nearby protection a major plus for a potential final resting place of the Ark.
I also have a book on mummies, which has a chapter on Tanis burials. So Tanis was a real place, although whether or not the Ark is buried there only God knows (literally)
