Indy's bag...

That bag that Indy carries, does it have anything in it or is it just for putting treasures in? If he carries supplies inside it, does anyone know what they are?
It seems to me that he pulled that bag of sand out of it at the beginning of "Raiders."

Anyone care to speculate on the contents of Indy's bag???
