I am sorry for being so rude before but its just that look what happens when characters are written or played in movies out of their element...they fail miserably. Look at Stallone in comedies etc. Its just that Indy is the qunitisential bachelor, fly by bthe seat of his pants adventurer. To write him as anything differently is not challenging OR interesting, its just poor judgement. tessa obviously wants to write about love, marriage and children because thats what SHE is interested in, not because she thinks we will be interested in it.
