I've always wanted to go on an African safari. I picked up a brochure for one at the travel agency and it looked very cool. For three grand you got two weeks in the veldt. One motel was built right in the trees and had a watering hole where the animals came up to drink. You could put in a wake-up call for certain animals. Say you wanted to see the cheetahs. The motel would keep a look out for them and call you when they showed up so you could go down and see them in the wild.
It also included a hot air balloon ride and lots of tours through the grasslands to view wild elephants and lions and stuff. I think they also had tents available so you could sleep right out in the wild. Of course the whole thing is modernized enough so that tourists won't be uncomfortable but primitive enough so you can still call it an adventure.
