For many people, an Indiana Jones adventure provides the best that movies have to offer: Thrills and Chills. Danger. Laughter. Mystery and Romance. Quite simply, two-plus hours of edge-of-your-seat fun.

But of course, Indiana Jones is hardly alone in the legion of movie hero's; over the years, many of hollywoods favorite leading men and most enduring characters have saved the day in bold, swashbuckling fashion, long before Dr. Jones ever stole his first golden idol from a forbidden temple. Flash Gordon, The Lone Ranger, James Bond...The list goes on.

Indeed, Indiana Jones stands-as inheritors of a good tradition always do-between glorious past and exciting future. Not only has Indiana jones introduced and entire generation to the breakneck pace and slam bang action of cliffhangers from hollywoods glory days; he has also revived the genre for the older generation of movie fans, and givin it the flash and sizzle of fine acting and first rate special effects.

"They just dont make tham like they used too," ran the common complaint. But when an archeologist named Indiana Jones came along, even lovers of the old action classics were forced to admit that they now make them better!!! Superbly acted by Harrison Ford, Indy Jones has quickly established himself as the classic, heroic figure for the 80's and beyond.

We are entitled to see In Dr. Jones the swashbuckiling love of adventure of Errol Flynn. We know Indy's rumpled worldliness barely conceals the shrewed, calculating mind of Sam Spade, but his fists hit with the brute force of a John Wayne. We glimpse the moral fiber of the Lone Ranger, the recourcefullness in escaping impossible situations like Flash Gordon, and more than a touch of James Bond's good looks and flippance in the face of danger....But Indiana Jones adds something different to the mix: this is a scientist driven by the need to know and come face to face with the great supernatural mysteries of the past. He combines reason and romance, science nad superstition, in a breathtaking manner that fascinates today's diverse audience. And much to our delight, Indy will never lose his knack for getting into-and out of- the incredible situations that will keep the millions of fans worldwide on the edge of their seats....and always coming back for more!!! (Delphi) Happy Birthday to the Greatest Hero of them all, INDIANA JONES.
