During my vacation I found another Indy 4 article. But this one was very well written and didn't seem to get their information from the IMDb. I found it in the July 4th Entertainment section of the Calgary Herald. Here Goes:

"FORD CONSIDERING INDIANA JONES FILM

Ten years ago, Harrison Ford was insisting that he was done with the character of Indiana Jones. He vowed that with the release of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, he would be tossing Indy's battered Panama hat into the ring for the third and last time. He figured it was better for himself, producer George Lucas, and director Steven Spielberg "to quit while we're ahead."

At the time, Spielberg supported Ford in this decision, warning that the creators of the series, which began with Raiders of the Lost Ark in 1981, we're running out of new ideas. Furthermore, the 47-year-old Ford was starting to hint that he was getting too old for this sort of thing.

But Indy may be making a fourth visit to the big screen. The first hints were dropped in 1996 when Ford conceded he might be ready to take on the role again- provided someone came up with a good story. "There's no script, but we can always get to talk once there's a script. The transom's always open."

By February of this year, Spielberg was telling the American TV show, Access Hollywood, that there would be another Indiana Jones movie and that it would be released no later than summer of 2001. The latest word is that there is now a script that excites the three key players- Ford, Spielberg and Lucas- but some Hollywood sources are saying that Ford has many other commitments it could be delayed indefinitely.

Fighting for Ford's attention these days is his other popular series character- author Tom Clancy's intrepid government troubleshooter Jack Ryan. Ford had big successes with screen versions of Clancy bestsellers- Clear and Present Danger and Patriot Games- and is already contractually attached to the new installment.

The big challenge is to decide which Jack Ryan adventure to film next. Originally, The Cardinal of the Kremlin topped the list but this was shelved because Paramount felt the story had become dated because of the end of the Cold War. Hollywood sources say the studio is now pushing for Debt of Honor, but producer Mace Neufeld wants Ford to do The Sum of All Fears, which deals with a Muslim terrorist organization's plan to detonate a nuclear weapon at the Super Bowl.

Paramount is reportedly balking at this, saying the plot is too close to that of John Frankheimer's 1977's terrorist movie, Black Sunday. But Neufield told reporters a few days ago that screenwriter Akiva Goldman is pushing ahead with a second draft of The Sum of All Fears. "If Harrison likes it, then we'll do it towards the end of the year 2000 or in early 2001," Neufield says. And if Ford doesn't like it, well maybe this will be a chance for the Indiana Jones project to move ahead into its slot."

Well, there you have it! Let's hope Ford doesn't like The Sum of All Fears Script!
