: If you bought Rob's books, and try reading them again in a couple of years, they still are interesting and you seem to get a good idea of how Indy was during the start of his "career". His stories are not meant to be boring, they tend to inform us more of the situation, places and time; and the plot is well composed too. Besides is isn't only the wisecracks for which Indy was and is famous for-- he's supposed to be an archeologist... and guys like that tend to enjoy a more esoteric insight into things.

I agree... in fact, my interest in that sort of thing is why I wrote my own Grail novel. It's not Indy, though LC does get a couple of mentions.
